Delta has today launched a partnership with Cape Air that allows SkyMiles members to earn miles on their flights to/from Boston Logan (BOS).
SkyMiles members earn miles if the Cape Air flights are booked on Delta’s website or any authorized sales channel and ticketed on DL’s 006 ticket stock. These flights are Medallion Qualifying and earn miles as they do on Delta based on the fare.
You can access Delta’s page for partners here.
Gere’s the information about the Cape Air partnership:
Beginning with travel on May 27, 2021, SkyMiles Members can earn miles and earn towards Medallion Status on Cape Air flights arriving to/departing from Boston Logan International (BOS) that are purchased in Delta channels (operated and marketed by Cape Air and ticketed by Delta).
Members will earn miles like they normally do on Delta-marketed flights.1
Here is how Members earn towards Medallion Status on eligible Cape Air flights:
Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs): All Cape Air fare classes (Y, M, X, H, Q, K, S B V, T, L) earn 100% of the distance flown2
Medallion Qualification Segments (MQSs) and Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs): Members earn like they normally do on Delta-marketed flights3
United MileagePlus members earn miles on all Cape Air flights (read more here) even if they are not plated on UA’s 016 ticket stock, unlike with Delta, where they need to be ticketed on 006 and must be to/from Boston.
Here’s the small print:
SkyMiles Members traveling on/after May 27, 2021 on flights operated by Cape Air are eligible to earn miles and earn towards Medallion Status. Travel must be booked through delta.com or any Delta authorized sales channel. The qualifying electronic ticket for Cape Air eligible flight must be issued on Delta (006) ticket stock only. Customer should include their SkyMiles account number onto Delta’s reservation record locator during booking. If a SkyMiles account number was not added to the reservation prior to travel, customer may, within 9 months of completion of the flight, request a retroactive credit. If a SkyMiles Number is added to the reservation prior to travel, the miles will be credited automatically with no action needed from the SkyMiles Member. Mileage will be credited only for travel flown by the SkyMiles Member on scheduled service flights. Mileage is credited to the SkyMiles account of the traveler, regardless of who pays for the ticket. Mileage from one account cannot be pooled or combined with the mileage of another individual’s account. Each Member must earn his/her own mileage credit.
(1) For Cape Air-marketed (flight numbers that include the “9K” airline code) and Delta-ticketed (featuring a ticket number beginning with “006”) flights, SkyMiles Members will earn miles based on ticket price, at the rate of 5 miles per U.S. Dollar (USD) spent, including base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges, but excluding government-imposed taxes and fees. Silver Medallion Members earn two additional miles per dollar (for a total of seven), Gold Medallion Members earn an additional three miles per dollar (for a total of eight), Platinum Medallion Members earn four additional miles per dollar (for a total of nine), and Diamond Medallion Members earn six additional miles per dollar (for a total of eleven). Medallion mileage bonus per USD spent based on earned Medallion status at the time of travel.
(2) SkyMiles Members are eligible to earn Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs), Medallion Qualification Segments (MQSs) and Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) based on Delta-ticketed flight rules. MQMs are earned through flight activity are calculated based on distance flown and fare class purchased on Delta, Delta Connection®, Delta Shuttle®, and select airline partners. Flights and itineraries eligible for MQMs will earn a minimum of 500 MQMs per segment. “Distance flown” means the calculated distance between the origin and destination, as determined by Delta in its sole discretion, regardless of the actual distance traveled on any individual flight.
(3) MQSs are earned through flight activity on Delta, Delta Connection, Delta Shuttle, and select airline partners. All paid fare classes eligible to earn MQMs count toward MQSs. MQDs are the sum total of the SkyMiles Member’s spend on Delta-marketed flights (flight numbers that include the “DL” airline code), inclusive of the base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges, but exclusive of government-imposed taxes and fees
The following tickets are not eligible for mileage accrual on Cape Air flights: Bulk, consolidator vacation or tour package fare products, Award Tickets or Pay with Miles tickets. Delta Air Lines is the final authority on the interpretation of these rules.
