Hilton last week rolled out highly controversial daily Food & Beverage credit for Gold and Diamond member stays in the United States instead of a complimentary breakfast through the end of 2021 (read more here, here, and here).
There is another change coming that becomes more significant once there are more Signia by Hilton hotels around, as Honors Diamond members are not eligible for Club Signia access.
You can access Hilton’s page for elite member benefits here.
Statement that we received from the Hilton spokesperson:
As we continue to grow the Signia by Hilton brand, Club Signia will offer a premium experience and amenities beyond those of our existing executive lounges.
Access to Club Signia will be available for an additional cost, therefore Diamond members will not receive access as part of their benefits.
It is unfortunate that Diamond members are not eligible for Club Signia access at this latest Hilton brand geared towards meetings and conventions (perhaps time to re-evaluate the plans post-Covid?).
Signia by Hilton was first supposed to be just an extension of the existing Hilton brand as Signia Hilton. However, they later decided to develop it as its own, and all Hilton had to do was add “by”. Easy!
I hope that this lounge access exclusion doesn’t spread to other brands.
