Finnair lounges have been mostly closed during the pandemic, although I believe that the Schengen lounge was briefly open last year before closed again.
Finnair is reopening the Schengen lounge on August 25, 2021, and it will be open 7-days a week, from 5:30 AM until 11:30 PM, with food and beverage options.
You can access Finnair’s page for lounges here.
The food and beverage options in the Schengen lounge are back when it opens.
The non-Schengen lounge and the Platinum Wing (read more here) won’t open before there is significant traffic between Finland and non-Schengen countries that is mostly restricted at the moment.
Passengers connecting from Schengen to non-Schengen, or those on non-Schengen to non-Schengen flights, but are allowed to enter Finland, can use the open Schengen lounge. Just remember that you need to spare some time to go through the exit immigration and walk a bit.
The buy-on-board should be back from September 1, 2021. Remember that Emerald members from all partner airlines are eligible for a complimentary beverage.
I am glad that Finnair has finally decided to reopen the Schengen lounge, now that the flight schedule is gradually increasing.
Passengers on non-Schengen flights can use it too but need to prepare a bit of time to get through the passport control and lengthy walk.
There is also a Plaza Premium lounge on the non-Schengen side, but I am not sure what the entry requirements now are when they are no longer associated with the Priority Pass but is part of the Amex Lounge Collection.
