Hilton Honors members can now use their hard-earned points at one of the most sought-after properties, where finding awards is usually a challenge.
For an unknown reason, Conrad Bora Bora Nui in French Polynesia has made most of the dates available using standard awards through May 2022.
You can access Conrad Bora Bora Nui here.
I have stayed at this hotel twice or thrice and quite enjoyed it!
Award Calendar as of Morning July 30th:
The standard award books into the King Garden View Suite that tends to go for $1K per night. I have never stayed in this room, as documented by the videos above (always upgraded).
I made four separate bookings for five nights each for April 2022.
St. Regis Bora Bora (Marriott Bonvoy)
When this popped up, I decided to have a look at the availability at the St. Regis Bora Bora and was able to book it for five nights (extremely rare to find availability).
There is Hilton opening up on Papeete in late 2021:
The Conrad Bora Bora Nui used to be Hilton years ago before it went through renovations, and I have stayed there two or three times. I quite like the hotel and wouldn’t have returned there otherwise.
I had a booking for St. Regis Bora Bora using points that I ended up canceling because of Covid-19 related travel restrictions.
Previously, I have flown to/from French Polynesia from Easter Island, Tokyo, and Auckland. It seems that LATAM is not bringing back the once-weekly flight between the Easter Island and Papeete that I booked a couple of times as part of Oneworld around the world ticket.
I made bookings this time to/from Tokyo on Air Tahiti Nui for April – May next year using American Airlines miles for business class (only 40K each way + less than $40 in taxes)
Let’s hope that Japan has reopened for vaccinated visitors by the Sakura next year, or I need to find connecting flights to the ones that I have booked, making Narita only a transit point.
