TAP, a Portuguese flag carrier that has dramatically struggled with refunds, sent out an email earlier this week informing selective miles extension by 12 months.
Miles&Go members that have flown with TAP, have Club TAP MilesGo membership, or TAP cobranded credit card, will see their miles expiring August 1 – December 31, 2021, by a year.
You can access TAP here.
Here’s information that TAP sent out:
Well. I would imagine that most TAP Miles&Go members have flown with the airline at least once (even award flights qualify), but there is not much utility of holding a TAP cobranded credit card, likely available in Portugal, considering how cheap their miles are to purchase.
It is interesting to see how TAP will come through this pandemic. Its primary market has been routes to South America and Brazil, which are behind Europe and North America regarding the epidemiological situation.
I guess that the government keeps funding the airline.
