I receive several emails weekly from Hilton and Honors, but it seems that they have now started to send out emails about processed upgrades, as I received a second one within a week. The first one was for a stay at the DoubleTree Amsterdam.
Hilton ran a test a couple of years ago, offering a small number of members some confirmable upgrade certificates. Still, I am unsure what came out of that experience because it has not been rolled out program-wide.

I have stayed at this specific Hilton once previously and received a similar upgrade. So let’s see if they can give me an Executive Suite when checking in.
Surprisingly, I have suddenly started to receive these emails from Hilton about upgrades that have been processed several days before the stay begins.
Hotels tend not to commit to upgrading until the day of arrival when they have a better understanding of available inventory for the duration of the stay.
