World of Hyatt last year announced that all free night, suite, and club access awards expiring in 2020 would be extended through the end of 2021.
The same policy is not applied to awards earned in 2021 that will expire per their policy, and you need to contact the customer service after their expiry to convert them to points or see if they will extend them by 6 months.
You can access World of Hyatt here.
I already earned the category 1 – 7 free night award in February due to nights rollover from 2020. The award was set to expire on August 7, and it did. There was no automatic extension.
You need to contact your Globalist Concierge to either extend it or refund some number of points for it. For example, I received six months extension of the certificate through February 7, 2022.
Hyatt Certificate Extension Policy
World of Hyatt is extending existing certificates until December 31, 2021.
Dealing with Hyatt is very easy if you are a Globalist. You can email your concierge to deal with issues such as this without contacting customer service by phone.
Hyatt should have, by default, given a longer expiry also for awards issued in 2021.
I had some opportunities to use this earlier, but why would I burn it at a hotel that is not category 7?
