Hilton rolled out Gold & Diamond member F&B credit instead of complimentary breakfast for hotels in the United States on July 1, and the program is supposed to end on December 31, 2021.
Most Hilton hotels use a proprietary OnQ customer information system instead of industry-standard Opera. Now, Hilton hotels in the US are trialing the automation of F&B credits into guest folios instead of front desk manual adjustments.

Other types of F&B credits could be baked in the rate booked on Hilton’s website or through Virtuoso and other third-party channels.
I was in touch with the Hilton spokesperson about if this was an indication that the F&B credit will stick around past December 31:
We continue to evaluate and optimize our Hilton Honors benefits, including the MyWay F&B Credit, to provide the best guest and hotel experience possible based on the feedback we receive from our members. We look forward to sharing more information as it becomes available.
More about the current US breakfast offering:
Hilton offers Gold & Diamond members daily F&B credit instead of breakfast at hotels in the United States through the end of 2021.
Automation of crediting the F&B allowance to guest folios would make it easier for Hilton to roll out various rate types or the F&B credit for hotels worldwide. However, the reply from the Hilton spokesperson leaves a lot to interpretation.
