Marriott has offered a Summer Dreaming in Thailand rate plan for quite a few months with F&B credit and bonus points.
The rate plan has now been extended for stays well into 2022, but you must book by October 6. Marriott should start calling it Winter Dreaming in Thailand, considering the date extension.
You can access this offer on Marriott’s website here.

All the rates above are tax and service charge inclusive. Remember that you can use various vouchers that hotels in Thailand have sold at 50% to 70% bonus USUALLY towards flexible rates.
Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit allows you to use Megatix vouchers towards the Summer Dreaming rate but only until the end of this month.
I would value Marriott points at 0.6 cents each (to make it easy). The 5,000 points under this promotion are worth roughly $30 that is 1,000 THB. The 1,000 THB F&B credit is worth perhaps 400 THB considering various dining promotions always available at hotels in Thailand and how overpriced the hotel food usually is.
So, the extras, excluding breakfast, are worth perhaps 1,400 THB. The breakfast for two is worth quite a lot, but if you are Platinum or higher, you will get it anyway.
I am on my way to Bangkok later this week for nine nights and have been looking rates at various hotels.
This Summer Dreaming is quite tempting for ONE NIGHT STAYS ONLY, but I am no longer too fond of switching hotels nightly that I used to do a lot. Also, it is OK at some hotels, while it makes absolutely no sense at others.
It also depends if Megatix continues selling these vouchers for Marriott-affiliated hotels in Bangkok. Some of them, which are hotel specific, can only be used for Best Flexible type rates, while others allow you to use them towards all non-prepaid rates.
The hotel rates in Bangkok are 50% to 75% off what they usually would go for”at this “ime o the year. Even these “inflated” Summer Dreaming rates are a lot lower than what SGS used to godon’tin the past.
Some of the hotels that don’t discount much offer the total room rate as an F&B credit. Decision time!
