IHG has relaunched its IHG Sports rate for stays in the United States and Canada, although I could not pull up the rates for the former while they were widely available on the latter.
Eligible IHG Rewards members can book IHG Sports rates discounted by 10% at a minimum and mainly offer flexible cancellation rules and are not prepaid.

Note that the T&Cs say that at least one of the nights must be Thursday to Sunday to be eligible for the discount.

The IHG Sports rate is roughly the same, in this instance, as the prepaid Advance Saver that comes with deposit and cancellation requirements.
Conclusion
Weirdly, the terms state that this rate plan is available at ALL US and Canada hotels because when I tried several dates in the US, the rate plan was not available in any of them. You could book it for pretty much any date in Canada, however.
