Information from Fiji:
Fiji is mainly a playground for visitors from Australia and New Zealand. They have offered some connecting flights from North America to destinations in the Pacific. I doubt that there will be any level of tourism renaissance before Aussies and Kiwis can freely travel without quarantine when returning home.
Parts of Fiji are pretty charming. I was there once in 2012. I would, however, stay away from the Denarau area that can be best described as a tourist ghetto.
