Marriott Bonvoy indicated earlier this year that the Ambassador requirement for renewals and upgrades from other tiers would be 100 nights and $14K in 2021.
Now, Marriott Bonvoy has informed Ambassador members that their status is extended by 12 months per the policy communicated earlier this week. Therefore, the only additional benefit for members that reached the lowered tier requirement this year is that they can gift a Platinum status for friends & family member.
You can access Marriott’s page for the Ambassador status here.

Remember the changes coming to the program shortly:
Is the spend and night requirements next year 100 nights and $20,000, as Marriott now implies? They indicated earlier this year that members need to reach the lowered qualification requirements and extend anyone anyway.
I think, however, that it is good that they ended up renewing all Ambassador members for an additional year because many must live in markets that have been in various levels of lockdowns and travel bans for part of the year.
