Many Marriott members have complained that their Bonvoy account doesn’t reflect the correct number of elite years used to determine one’s lifetime tier with the program.
Marriott corporate has claimed that the lifetime years on the accounts are correct, while customer service has had various answers from that they are added later or that they cannot correctly count them.

Conclusion
Let’s hope that Marriott has now added the missing year(s) to Bonvoy members waiting for them.
It just baffles me how inconsistent Marriott has been when it comes to this issue. They have officially claimed the entire time that there is absolutely no issue, and now at least, some members have seen the count advance by a year.
