India has, from today, welcomed most vaccinated visitors on commercial flights from 99 countries to enter the country without any other requirement than predeparture PCR-RT test and self-monitoring of their conditions for the 14 days.
Passengers from countries that don’t reciprocate with India’s vaccine certificate, such as the United Kingdom, Singapore, and New Zealand, must take a covid test upon arrival and other undefined measures.
India is also promoting incoming tourism by issuing 500,000 free visas for visitors through March 2022.
The country opened already in October for select international visitor arrivals, but only on charter flights. However, the tourists are now welcomed on all commercial and private flights.
