Lufthansa in October announced that they would partially go Buy-On-Board on long-haul flights starting this winter.
The airline has now released its Onboard Delights menu with usual unhealthy snacks and adult beverage brands of not so “high” quality.
Here’s how Lufthansa promotes its economy service:
On long-haul flights in Economy Class you can look forward to an attentive in-flight service that varies depending on the length of the flight and the destination. It always includes a varied range of beverages and a 3-course meal.
Cuisine on long-haul flights
Sample menu
Beverage service
After take-off, you can choose from a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
3-course menu
In addition, a 3-course meal is served. Regularly changing salads and desserts round off the meal. After the meal, we serve you tea or coffee or a digestif.
Second meal and, if appropriate, snacks
Depending on the length of the flight, we will serve you a cold vegetarian dish as a second meal in Economy Class. On some routes you will also receive a snack between meals.
But then states:
Note that this almost applies that the “complimentary” alcoholic beverages are not as “high-quality” as their Onboard Delight ones.
Onboard Delights
These “high-quality” snacks and beverages turn out to be the usual selection of unhealthy crap and regular adult beverage brands.
Conclusion
Lufthansa’s Onboard Delights menu is beyond sad.
It is clear that they are only loading staple unhealthy products that they can continue selling for months at a time. There aren’t any fresh food options on these dis-delights.
Lufthansa – you can do better than this.
