Alaska Airlines has sent out emails to Mileage Plan elite members offering them a Fast Track Status for 2022 if they fail to meet the requirements in 2021.
It appears that Alaska Airlines, unlike Delta and United, won’t automatically extend member tiers by an additional year, but only through April 30, 2022.
You can access Alaska’s Status Boost here.
Alaska Airlines MVP, MPV Gold, and MPV Gold 75K members must fly 5,000, 10,000, or 20,000 elite qualifying miles by April 30 to extend the status through the end of 2022.
Note that you cannot use this offer to qualify for a higher status than you currently have.
Status extension and 2022 Fast Track
If you aren’t able to requalify for the status you held in 2021, you’ll get a second chance. We’ll extend your 2021 status until April 30, 2022*. To keep your status through December 31, 2022, earn the following number of base flight miles between January 1 and April 30, 2022.
- MVP members: 5,000 miles
- MVP Gold members: 10,000 miles
- MVP Gold 75K members: 20,000 miles
* Members status will be extended by December 31, 2021.
Email That Alaska Sent Out:
It is somewhat surprising that Alaska doesn’t follow Delta and United by extending everyone’s tier by an additional year. The reason for this is that Alaska doesn’t fly any long-haul services that are mostly still affected by various travel restrictions, but domestic and regional flights.
Here’s the small print:
2022 Fast track to status
