Air Canada has today added Air Mauritius and Oman Air to its ever-increasing list of Aeroplan partner airlines.
Aeroplan members can, from today, redeem their miles on both airlines and initially also earn on Oman Air. The ability to earn Aeroplan miles on Air Mauritius will be introduced in early 2022.
You can access Aeroplan’s page for partner airlines here.
Here’s a note we received from Air Canada:
We are excited to let you know that starting today, December 14th, Oman Air AND Air Mauritius will be officially added to our growing, and world’s largest roster, of more than 40 airline travel partners.
Oman Air is the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman. The airline operates flights from its hub in Muscat, Oman throughout the Mid-East, several European gateways, the Indian Sub-Continent, South Asia, as well as to popular adventure destinations in Africa.
Air Mauritius is the national carrier of the Republic of Mauritius. The airline operates flights to its European gateways Paris Charles de Gaulle and London Heathrow, as well as to Mumbai, Johannesburg, Madagascar, Réunion and Rodrigues.
These new partnerships expand Aeroplan’s coverage in the region, and most excitedly, gives members access to even more premium air products. Members will be able to earn on or redeem for Oman Air’s Apex Suite in the Business Class cabin, as well as the Private Suite in the First Class cabin! Air Mauritius is the first airline in the world to operate both the new generation Airbus A350-900 and A330-900neo and expands Aeroplan’s presence giving members more inventory and choice for airlines serving premium leisure destinations in the Indian Ocean vicinity.
Once again, Aeroplan is the only frequent flyer program in North America offering the opportunity to earn and redeem on Oman Air and Air Mauritius flights.
Continuing our journey to offer even more choice, more inventory, and a more diverse product offering when it comes to airline options – globally.
Initially, Aeroplan Members will only be able to redeem for Air Mauritius flights. Accrual of Aeroplan points is anticipated to be launched in early 2022.
In terms of Aeroplan Flight Rewards on both Oman Air and Air Mauritius flights, please note the following:
- Flights will be priced based on Aeroplan’s pricing for partner airlines.
- Members will be able to book Oman Air and Air Mauritius flights online at aircanada.com, through the Air Canada mobile app, or via Aeroplan’s Contact Centre.
- Flights can be combined with flights operated by Air Canada and our other international airline partners.
- Oman Air flights are eligible for redemption in First, Business, and Economy classes.
- Air Mauritius flights are eligible for redemption in Business and Economy classes

Oman Air Aeroplan earnings:
Air Mauritius and Oman Air flights won’t be elite qualifying. You will only earn award miles.
Air Canada Aeroplan Airline Partners:
Conclusion
Air Canada Aeroplan members can now redeem on Etihad, Gulf Air, Air Mauritius, and Oman Air, airlines based around the Middle East & Indian Ocean. This is excellent news, especially for members in Europe and the Middle East/Indian Ocean, because these four partners in the region provide excellent connectivity.
I also like that Air Canada allows you to mix and match all their partner airlines when redeeming your miles. In addition, there are often flight combinations available on Aeroplan that could not be possible using any other program.
Oman Air indicated earlier in the fall that it would apply for Oneworld membership with the help of Qatar Airways (read more here).
