Marriott has surprised some Bonvoy members on New Year’s Eve by removing elite qualifying nights from accounts.
Marriott Bonvoy has previously had challenges with crediting the correct number of elite qualifying years to members, based on reader feedback that we have received.

Removal of elite qualifying nights on December 31st can have drastic consequences to member qualification and choosing Annual Elite Choice Benefits.
It is unclear if this removal of nights only affects accounts with co-branded credit cards.
