Philippines Welcomes Fully Vaccinated Tourists From February 10, 2022 (No Quarantine)

The Philippines, which has been very firmly closed for the past two years, will again welcome fully vaccinated tourists without quarantine from February 10, 2022.

The country was supposed to reopen in December last year, but those plans were temporarily halted due to the Omicron-variant.

  • Philippines nationals who are fully vaccinated can enter quarantine free from February 1, 2022.
  • Visitors, both leisure and business, who are fully vaccinated and from Visa-free countries can enter from February 10, 2022.

There is a predeparture PCR-RT test requirement (max 48 hours before departure) but no additional quarantines or tests after arriving in the Philippines. Travelers need to monitor themselves for seven days after arriving in the Philippines and report to local authorities if they encounter any symptoms.

Conclusion

I believe that we will shortly see more Asian countries opening up with just vaccination proof and, maximum, a pre-departure PCR-RT test, which I hope is soon dropped. Going through hassles like applying for the Thailand Pass, which we have extensively covered, is a deterrent for most leisure visitors.
