Hilton announced in June last year (read more here) that they would open a new hotel in the Maldives called Hilton Amingiri Resort before the end of the year.
We posted some construction photos (read more here) and wondered if the hotel would open as scheduled. However, the end of 2021 has long gone, and now the hotel indicates that it will open in September 2022, although reservations are not currently open.
You can access Hilton Amingiri Resort here.

The hotel comes up on the search for the Maldives and indicates that it would open on September 1, 2022, although it is no longer bookable at all (it was yesterday).
The hotel is located close to Male and is only a 15-minute long boat ride away.
Google now has more complete images of the resort, and it appears to be extremely high density. There is hardly any privacy between villas.
The hotel sells for 110,000 Honors points per night for a standard room.
The opening rate appears to be roughly $1K per night
Hilton has released more rendered images of what the resort may look like.
It is always good to have more options to earn and redeem points.
It does, however, look that this resort is very packed considering all the villas, both overwater and on land. Not sure how they can ensure the remote Maldivian feeling with all the other people on this tiny island?
There are plenty of options in the Maldives at various price points, and it is interesting to see where the rates settle for this property (hotels always try to open high).
Hilton has now removed all the availability for this hotel for any future date.
