British Airways has had horrible few months with continuous IT and crewing issues, combined with never-ending problems at Heathrow, from taking hours to have checked luggage delivered to very long lines at the border.
Whenever BA has had similar challenges previously, they have soon launched a bonus Avios campaign to get more bookings in (read CASH), and it appears that they are about to have another one.

BA may be launching a Double Avios offer for flights through December 31, 2022, if booked by April 30. The registration for this offer doesn’t work yet, however.

I have been avoided booking anything on BA for the past year due to continuous problems the airline has been experiencing, and I still have Gold Guest List status with them.
Does it really make any sense to launch bonuses to incentivize your frequent fliers to book travel until the underlying issues have been resolved?
Why anyone who has a choice continues to fly with them? I don’t get it.
