The Park Hyatt Kyoto opened to the public in October 2019 in one of the city’s best-preserved historic districts, Higashiyama hills. The architectural project was carried out by Japanese studio Takenaka, responsible also of Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 4. The hotel is next to Kodai-ji temple and within walking distance to many of Kyoto’s UNESCO World Heritage sites, including Kiyomizu-dera temple, and offers sweeping views of the city and Yasaka Pagoda.
This luxurious 68-square-meter hillside retreat boasts a separate living room and bedroom. The interior of this sprawling suite is subtle and inviting, following a design concept inspired by the mountains. Fragrant tamo wood and local materials anchor time-old tradition in a modern space.
This is a standard suite, see World of Hyatt program terms for upgrade eligibility.
This property is cleverly integrated within the neighborhood landscape, and the staggered distribution of the different buildings in the complex guarantee breathtaking views over Kyoto hills. The room is spacious (especially for Japan standards!), and it is nicely decorated (and did you see that minibar?). This Park Suite qualifies as a standard suite in World of Hyatt, so upgrades are a possibility.
