American Express has uploaded new offers for their U.S. based cardholders and this one might be interesting for Hyatt enthusiasts as they have a $60 cash back offer online.
The offer is good for the Grand Hyatt brand and valid only at Grand Hyatt hotels in the US, Mexico, and the Bahamas with a $300 minimum spend requirement.
After the purchase was charged to the card, American Express will credit $60 back to the account within a few weeks of the transaction.

Definitely, a nice little kickback for a Grand Hyatt stay, although I’m not sure why they now limit it to a specific brand of the chain. I’m also not a big fan of the geographical limitations. U.S. plus Mexico and the Bahamas, really!?
Also, remember that the purchase has to be made with Hyatt directly and not through a third party, including Amex travel. Only transactions directly with the hotel count, which means you can reserve through the website, app, or directly with the call center of Hyatt Reservations or the hotel.
I do like these Amex offers, and I save a couple of hundred dollars each year on transactions I’d have ordinarily made either way. I don’t go out of my way to chase offers though. I have friends who play around with gift cards and stuff, but personally, I can’t be bothered with these games anymore. Too much effort and breakage are involved with such transactions, especially with all the issues such as hacked and emptied gift cards these days.

The transaction has to be made until December 15th though you can stay later as long as the charge is processed until then. Keep in mind that this offer is for the Grand Hyatt brand only and that bookings (payments) have to be made directly through a Hyatt booking channel. You could book a FHR reservation as long as the payment is going to be with the hotel and not prepaid through Amex.
