A LoyaltyLobby reader sent us a message about their inability to register for the latest global promotion (read more here) that started yesterday.

I am an Ambassador in Bonvoy and I tried to register to Marriott 2000 points offer but it’s not accepting, that is what i see:
Is it because I already reached my goal to renew my Ambassador this year so they don’t find my stays interesting anymore?!
The reader is not the only one with this program. I cannot register for this offer on my legacy Marriott Rewards account.
It also doesn’t show on my promotion on the website or app.
The message on the Marriott’s error is misleading. I have never had my earning preference anything other than Marriott Rewards or Marriott Bonvoy points.
I used the contact us form on the website to inquire why their system was incorrectly denying my registration for this offer.

In researching your account, it is showing you are enrolled in the Q3 Global Promotion beginning on 9/21/2022 and ending on 12/15/2022.

At least I now have written confirmation that I have registered for this offer and can start bugging them if the bonus points won’t post.
You need to either call or message Marriott Bonvoy customer service to have them manually sign you up or to confirm your registration.
This very same issue has plagued Marriott Rewards and Marriott Bonvoy global promotions for as long as I can recall (15+ years).
I am unsure why Marriott hasn’t fixed this bug because it is so prevalent and has affected many over the years.
I would advise getting a written confirmation that you have been signed up for it if the registration doesn’t show up under your account. You then have something to back up your claim if and when the points won’t post.
