Many readers have been surprised today after they received a miles purchase confirmation from Points.com for a transaction they had never initiated.
The email states that the person would have purchased Lufthansa Miles&More miles under Bundle&Go-program.

It turns out that these emails were sent in error.
Points.com told us they had been running a test, incorrect information was pulled onto a template from previous transactions, and emails went out.
Points.com has confirmed that there has not been any data breach or leaks, but this merely was a human error.
Points.com handles points purchases for many airline and hotel loyalty programs, including United Airlines, British Airways, Lufthansa, Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, and many others.
It is unfortunate that an internal test email went out because incorrect purchase emails, like this one, are often used for phishing attempts.
