Le Grand Hotel opened its doors in 1862 in central Paris, as part of the major urban renovations the city was undergoing at the time. It was billed as the “largest hotel in the world” back then, with 800 guestrooms and suites. The iconic Café de la Paix is located on the ground floor.
The hotel has been operated under the Intercontinental Hotels brand since 1981, and since then has undergone through two extensive renovations, both commissioned to French interior designer Pierre Yves Rochon. The first renovation, between 1985-1990 saw the room count reduced to 470, including 72 suites, resulting in larger and more spacious accommodations, including larger bathrooms. The second renovation just finished this year, and the hotel reopened last summer with complete redesigned interiors.
Inspired by the ballet and the opera, our Junior Suites are beautifully decorated: mirrors, leather headboard and velvet armchair bring a resolutely modern style. They have a superb bathroom with an antique bathtub and an Italian shower. Ideal for relaxing during a Parisian getaway.
From 35 to 52 sq.m. Twin beds or King size bed. Room with view on the Opera Garnier upon request (with extra charge)
