Sebastian wrote a piece, and we all had trouble locating an option to link accounts, as we were not in the UK, likely to prevent you from earning the promised 250 Avios.
You can access BA’s page for the Uber partnership here.
I landed at London Heathrow on Saturday evening, and there was then the option to link accounts that my account previously did not have.
The linking requirements were rather onerous in terms of data that Uber has access to in my Executive Club account.
I approved them, though, and the account linking was successful.
The Uber pick-up was painless this time (I have previously had issues trying to get a non-Black car), and I was surprised that the Avios for the ride posted far faster than those for the BA flight I took.
The Avios for the Saturday night ride were in my Executive Club account on Sunday, while the flight still hasn’t been posted.
The 250 bonus Avios for account linking probably show at some later date.
The Avios for Uber rides post roughly as fast as Honors points for Lyft pick-ups.
If they can get Avios posted this fast, what prevents speeding up posting Avios for BA’s own and partner flights that sometimes take weeks?
These Avios for Uber rides are a nice bonus but don’t sway whether I use the service.
