Climate “Activists” Breach Secure Area At Berlin’s BER Airport & Glue Themselves To The Pavement – Airport Closed!

Berlin’s Brandenburg International Airport (BER) has been shut down at this hour as “climate activists” have breached the secure area and glued themselves to the tarmac.

Flights are currently delayed or canceled entirely and the Federal Police is investigating the situation as well as getting the intruders off the premises (and into custody).

Germany has been plagued with militant public protests of climate activists (terrorists really) that belong to groups such as Last Generation and others, shutting down public motorways and in many cases endangering the lives of people or being directly responsible for their death such as in a recent case this month where an ambulance couldn’t reach an accident site after people glued themselves to the street.

Reuters reports that the Berlin Brandenburg Airport is currently closed.

Berlin Brandenburg Airport on Thursday said it closed its takeoff and landing runways due to unauthorized access of several people, while a climate group said its activists glued themselves to the tarmac.

The activists from the Last Generation environmental group called on the public to stop travelling by air and on the government to stop subsidizing it, the group said on Thursday.

“In an airport area that is not open to the public, we encountered several people who had previously gained unauthorized access and some glued themselves,” Berlin police said on Twitter.

A spokesperson for the airport said police had detained the activists but the runways were closed in order for staff to check for and rule out the presence of further people.

The spokesperson could not say how many flights were affected.

Activist groups have repeatedly targeted airports all over Europe and violated both secure airspace with items such as drones or breached the secure area of airports and illegally entered the premises.

Unfortunately, the laws in most European countries are way too lenient, and rather than treating these people as the threat they are to society, they’re being given low sentences if any.

Conclusion

Berlin’s BER Airport has been shut down due to “activists” having breached the secure area and glued themselves to the tarmac. If you’re flying out of Berlin tonight better get in touch with the airline and check for alternatives as it’s unclear how long authorities need to get these maniacs off the grounds and secure the airport again for safe operations.

As a German citizen, I can only say that I wish we had some influence of the U.S. justice system where criminals are actually punished severely, especially when victims are endangered, injured, or worse. Do we really need a plane to crash before these people are taken on and given lengthy prison sentences?
