IHG has made changes to its website and altered pages, which has resulted in the InterContinental Ambassador Free Weekend Night booking link vanishing, only to return a 404 error message.
There are many free weekend night vouchers about to expire, and many have recently signed up for the Ambassador program to extend the validity of their Diamond trial status through the end of 2023.

You must expand the Rate Preference drop-down menu and choose the Ambassador Complimentary Weekend Night rate.
Choose the destination with InterContinental hotels (the voucher can ONLY be used for stays at IC brand next year), and you will see what hotels are available.
The “Free” Weekend Night rate plan is the best flexible (rarely the lowest), and the second night is free.
It usually makes the most sense to book this as Friday and Saturday because Saturday night tends to be more expensive than Friday or Sunday.

IHG should have done more testing when updating pages, as important links appear to have vanished, such as the booking one for the Ambassador free weekend night certificate.
Luckily, there is a workaround without calling the Ambassador service center.
Many new “accidental” Ambassador members only signed up to extend their Diamond status by 12 months that are eager to explore other benefits.
