Hilton Grand Vacations (HGV) sent out new offers late last week for Honors Diamond members in the US, inviting them to stay for four to five nights at select locations + 150,000 points for $299/$599.

The catch is, as is always with these timeshare deals, you need to attend a presentation lasting up to two hours and be able to say a definite NO at the end, or it will be the most expensive vacation in your life.

Although anyone can visit our properties or purchase our timeshare resorts, our special preview packages are only available to persons who meet certain criteria and reside in a state where our projects are registered for sale. Sales Presentation Expectations

During your vacation, you’ll attend a Personal Preview, an approximately two-hour sales presentation and tour that will introduce you to the many benefits and privileges of vacation ownership with Hilton Grand Vacations. If you are traveling on a vacation package, your Personal Preview will be scheduled when you book your travel dates, typically the day after your arrival.

The presentation is a maximum of TWO HOURS. If they try to keep you longer, mention the T&Cs.

In Waikoloa, your vacation package includes accommodations at Ocean Tower, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club. In Orlando, your vacation package includes accommodations at SeaWorld® Orlando, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club, Tuscany Village, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club, Parc Soleil, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club, or Las Palmeras, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club. In Las Vegas, your vacation package includes accommodations at The Boulevard, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club. Reservation Change and Cancellation Policy

Preview packages expire 12 months from date of purchase unless otherwise stated in the offer you received.

• You have up to 12 months to use your preview package unless otherwise stated in the offer you received.
• A $19.95 charge applies to each reservation change made up to 30 days prior to arrival. Should your plans change within seven (7) days of your scheduled arrival, requiring a change of your reservation or arrival dates, the equivalent of one (1) night at the currently published rack rate will be applied to the cost of the package.
• Preview package price is non-refundable.

Conclusion

These timeshare presentation packages can be a great deal, but you need to know how to say NO at the end. There are other Hilton Grand Vacations offers out there, but they come with fewer Honors points. The 150,000 Honors points that are part of this Diamond member offer are valued at somewhere between $600 to $750.

Buying a timeshare makes absolutely no sense at all, and they are readily available through aftermarket at a fraction of the cost. There are high maintenance and other yearly fees in addition to the purchase price.

Don’t buy the preview unless you are 100% sure to be able to say a firm NO during the high-pressure sales presentation.
