Hilton launched lifetime Diamond status in the mid-2010s and made the requirements public in 2015 (read more here).
Hilton told us in 2020 that they were working on bringing a lifetime counter on its website, making it easy for Honors members to track their progress towards this status, but alas, this has not happened yet. So instead, in 2023, you need to contact Hilton Honors customer support by phone or email to get the stats.
You can access Hilton’s page for lifetime status here.

Hilton customer support has updated the reply form for these lifetime Diamond inquiries, and something went wrong with the reply, but the data is there.
My Lifetime Progress:
- 2015 = 361 nights & 7 years of Diamond status
- 2019 = 534 nights, 699K base points, and 12 years of Diamond
- 2020 = 603 nights, 804K base points, and 13 years of Diamond
- 2021 = 700 nights, 880K base points, and 14 years of Diamond
- 2022 = 815 nights, 990K base points, and 15 years of Diamond
- 2023 = 955 nights, 1.2M base points, and 16 years of Diamond (8 nights from 2023)
It seems that I will reach the 1,000 nights sometime in the next 5 to 7 months, depending on how many nights I stay with the chain.
Why Lifetime Diamond Status Matters?
Hilton Honors Global Automated Upgrades Order
Hilton rolled out Global Automated Upgrades last year, and the Lifetime Diamond members are upgraded before Diamond and Gold members. This results in better upgrades.
Conclusion
I have inquired about my progress towards the lifetime status at the beginning of each year to have an audit trail in place if something unexpected happens and ensure that the number of nights has been recorded correctly (so far, everything has added up).
My upgrades as a Diamond member have generally been good to excellent (outside of North America). I would assume they would be even better when I reach lifetime status, hopefully in the next 6 months.
Hilton should make this lifetime information available on their website, like Marriott does, or on their monthly emails, like Hyatt.
