Air France’s announcement:
National call for strike action planned on January, 19 2023
Updated : January 17, 2023, 19 h 30 Paris local time
As part of the national strike in France on Thursday 19 January 2023 and notably following the request from the French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC) to all airlines to reduce their flight schedule to and from Paris Orly by 20%, Air France plans to operate on this day:
- all its long-haul flights,
- close to 90% of its short and medium-haul flights.
Delays and last minute cancellations cannot be ruled out. The flight schedule is currently being updated and customers affected by cancelled flights will be notified individually by SMS, e-mail and via Air France application. Commercial measures, which can be consulted below allow customers to change their date of travel free of charge. Customers whose flight is cancelled will receive a credit voucher or a full refund should they no longer wish to travel. All Air France’s teams are mobilized to assist customers in their procedures.
Conclusion
At this point, the strike activity will only see 20% of flights at Orly airport canceled and none at Paris’ main airport Charles de Gaulle (CDG).
Getting to and from the airport can be challenging, as strike activity will significantly affect public transportation, and many services are simply not operating.
