Choice Hotels appears to have an issue with its website regarding booking awards.
A reader dropped us a note that the online award booking capability has been down for a couple of weeks, and it is unclear when it will be back up. You can, however, book awards by contacting Choice by phone.

The above error message pops up when you try to book Choice properties online. Unfortunately, I cannot test this by myself, as there are no points in my Choice Privileges account.
Conclusion
So, if you have this same error message when trying to book Choice Hotels online using points, call them.
It seems that the award booking works offline, but you would think that this would be a priority to fix in 2023.
