Hilton has launched a “Big Dreams, Big Savings” Summer sale for stays at participating hotels in Southeast Asia through December 30, 2021.
Honors members save 30%, while non-member discount is capped at 25%. The offer is valid for bookings made by May 18.
Hilton made Honors program “enhancements” in 2017 that included moving away from award categories and publishing yearly changes in the number of points required for free nights.
The maximum point requirements in place were 95,000 per night that was first exceeded with the Waldorf Astoria in the Maldives (read more here) and later with another Waldorf in Los Cabos (read more here), both costing in terms of points 120,000/night.

Honors members earn double points for stays of one or two nights and triple points for three nights or longer.
Hilton Honors members can redeem points at select hotels at just 5,000 or 10,000 per night, and elite members always get the fifth night free too!. We have updated the list of available hotels as of May 2021.
Hilton Honors members can currently redeem at 16 hotels for 5,000 points per night and 65 hotels for 10,000.
Hilton on Friday announced four new luxury hotels that will open in Mainland China in the coming years with cooperation with Shimao Group.
The biggest hotel, Conrad Shanghai that opens in 2022, is a reflag from Marriott’s Le Royal Meridien (read more here) hotel that Shimao owns.
Hilton made an announcement about opening four luxury hotels in China (three Conrads and one Waldorf Astoria – see separate piece), and my eye caught a line that the Conrad Shanghai is a “conversion” (usually the word hotels use is a reflag).
There was no mention on the release under what brand the hotel currently operates, but it did mention the Chinese company who owns these – Shimao, and I knew that Le Royal Meridien in Shanghai at the People’s Square is theirs.
Hilton’s partner in Tahiti plans to reopen the original Hilton Tahiti that has now been closed for 10 or so years.
The hotel is very convenient to the airport (few kilometers north) and not that far away from Papeete city center either (seven or so).
Hilton launched Frontline Thanks-essential worker appreciation rate plan for worldwide use in mid-2020, and it has not been extended for stays through December 31, 2021.
Eligible frontline employees save a fixed 25% (not up to) on their stays by booking this flexible rate plan. The rate is currently bookable until June 30.
