World Of Hyatt Surprises Some Members With Elite Status Through May 31, 2020


Some World of Hyatt members have received an elite status, Explorist or Globalist, for three months through May 31, 2020.

It is unclear at this time whether this is just a teaser or, more likely, some unannounced fast track. You should check your account to see if there is a surprise waiting.

World of Hyatt Coronavirus Status Extension Email

World of Hyatt last week announced its coronavirus status extensions (read more here) for members not just in Greater China, like most other chains, but all members in Asia-Pacific plus those frequently traveling to the region.

A reader forwarded an email that Hyatt sent out today to eligible members announced the status extension.

Last Call To Buy World Of Hyatt Points At 25% Off – Promotion Ends February 29, 2020

World of Hyatt’s first promotion of this year to buy Hyatt Points with up to 25% off through February 29th is about to end in a couple days and could be worthwhile to have a closer look at. Members can buy up to 55,000 points every calendar year before any possible bonuses. Hyatt has several promotions for buying points throughout the year, but they always max at 40% (bonus).

Coronavirus Hotel Status Waivers & Extensions


As the coronavirus is starting to spread around the world from its base in Wuhan, China, many hotel loyalty programs have already released their elite status waivers for 2020.

Accor Live Limitless, Best Western Rewards, Hilton Honors, World of Hyatt, IHG Rewards Club, Marriott Bonvoy and Shangri-La have all released their waivers/extensions for those members in Greater China and/or Asia-Pacific.

World of Hyatt Extends Tier Status For Members in Asia-Pacific For One Additional Year Due To Coronavirus


World of Hyatt has announced that they will extend the tier status for those members with registered addresses in Asia-Pacific for an additional year due to the Coronavirus situation.

Customers whose status would normally expire on February 28, 2021 will now be extended until the following year: February 28, 2022.

World of Hyatt To Improve Points&Cash Awards After Gutting Them Two Years Ago

As I wrote two days ago World of Hyatt changes for 2020 will go live on March 22nd but it doesn’t just include category changes, apparently Hyatt will make a positive improvement to their Cash&Points awards as well.

Hyatt has changed how cash&points awards are redeemed back in November of 2018 and since then these awards became pretty much useless as they went from a fix cash price to dynamic pricing.

World of Hyatt Award Category Changes & Seasonal Pricing Effective March 22, 2020

World of Hyatt made an announcement today, publishing this years WOH award chart changes that will take effect on March 22, 2020.

At the same time Hyatt will also kick into effect their new seasonal pricing which allows properties to charge peak/off peak pricing throughout the year.

World of Hyatt has launched its first global promotion of 2020 called “Bonus Journeys” that is valid for stays between February 15 – May 15.

Members will earn double points starting from the second stay for up to 100,000 during the promotional period + World of Hyatt credit cardholders get 1,500 additional points for each weekend stay.

World of Hyatt members can earn 500 bonus points per night at select new hotels, and now this promotion has been extended through May 31, 2020, with more hotels.

Members can earn 500 bonus points per night on top of any other possible bonuses there are. There is no registration required for this offer.

American Airlines Is Still Processing Executive Platinum Nominations For Invited World of Hyatt Globalists

Since early December of 2019 we have covered a special promotion where World of Hyatt concierges are contacting select Globalists, offering them AA Executive Platinum status through January 2021.

Some customers who weren’t automatically contacted by their concierge (including myself) were able to actively ask for this promotion and as John wrote recently it seems like American is finally getting around to upgrade the accounts.
