Priority Club: From Zero to Platinum on Seven Stays + 60K+ Points

I have been advocating for long time for people to sign up for Priority Club and to take advantage of numerous promotions that they offer. Sometimes the response is that they don’t bother. Oh well. You can get the Platinum status so easily as Priority Club allows one to earn it entirely based on points. I don’t know anyone who would have earned it based on the number of night requirement.

So, I just signed up a friend for the Priority Club and he earned 60K+ points for 7 stays. In all fairness, he signed up for the Ambassador program along the way and got 5K Priority Club points voucher, but at the same time he is missing one 7.5K bonus for Roles to Rooms promotion.

Also, if he had signed for the Ambassador before having any stays, he would have earned more online booking bonuses.

Priority Club is very point rich program as long as you make sure that you take advantage of the all the promotions that I list here on LoyaltyLobby. You can access the latest bonuses here and here. Also, read my article about various Priority Club promotions and how they work.

Priority Club Candlewood & Staybridge Suites Promotion for 5000 Bonus Points

Priority Cub has launched a promotion to get people to try two of their extended stay brands; Candlewood Suites and Staybridge Suites.

You will get 5000 bonus points for a two night consecutive stay at any Candlewood or Staybridge Suites property in the United States between now and December 30th, 2012. You will need to register for this promotion at using promotional code 4997 prior the stay posts to your account.

Note that this promotion doesn’t conflict with the 4th quarter stay bonuses that were just introduced.

This is easy 5000 bonus points if you have a consecutive two stay coming at either Candlewood or Staybridge Suites property. The only downside is that this promotion only applies for stays in the United States.

My Priority Club Rebate Submission Problem

1 Comment

Priority Club has been running very good promotions this year. I have written about two rebate promotions that they have had. One was for weekend stays and included a $75 rebate and the other one was for weekday stays for $50 rebate for a two night stay.

I have done quite a few rebates in the past and, quite frankly, hate doing them. This is really why the companies love them. People take the rebates into account when they are making the purchase decision, but forget to follow up with the requirements later when it comes to time to submit them.

In my case I maxed out the weekend promotion as I had four stays of two days or longer and I had one submission for the weekday promotion as well.  The total rebate amount is $350 so it was definitely worth spending some time filling out the forms and mailing out the required documents.

I had saved all the receipts for the hotel stays, but it took a while to find them all. I have quite a few hotel folios saved. I decided also to include copies of the reservations I had made.

Steps that I had to take:

1. Find the original confirmation email that I had registered for the promotion. Print one copy for each rebate submission.

2. Fill out the rebate forms and submit them online. Print out the forms.

3. Attach the hotel folio(s) and the reservation confirmation(s).

4. Make sure that you are attaching the right folios and rebate submissions.

5. Put them each of the rebate submissions to their own envelope.

6. Take them to the post office.

I was in Sao Paulo and it took about an hour to get all these ready. Luckily, I was able to use the laser printer at the Grand Hyatt Sao Paulo to print out the rebate forms and reservation emails. The post office was also nearby.

Quite frankly I wouldn’t have bothered with these rebates, but the fulfillment was done by a company called Parago/RebatesHQ. I knew from my previous experience with them that, if they mistakenly invalidate the rebate submission, a phone call or an email will get them to revalidate the submission as an one time courtesy.

It took about two weeks for them to receive the submission and process them. I received an email confirmation that they had received and processed each of the rebates that I had submitted. They had invalidated four out of the five submissions that I had done. I wasn’t surprised about this at all.

They had an option to chat over the web and I was able to get all the four submissions validated over one session. The person dealing with the issue was able to see that they had misprocessed the rebates. Now, I am only waiting for the “processing” period to end.

Rebate promotions are not my favorite ones, but you can save quite a bit by taking advantage of them. You just need to make sure that you are following the rebate rules by the letter and keep copies of all the documents submitted.

Often rebates come back as invalid for one reason or another. This is just part of the game. You need to call, email, or chat and have them to revalidate them.

Priority Club Promotions for September 2012

1 Comment

You really have to make sure that you have signed up for all numerous overlapping promotions that Priority Cub offers. Otherwise you are leaving points on the table.

You can read about my average Priority Club point earnings when all the promotions are factored in here. I have also written about different type of Priority Club promotions here and what you can expect to earn for your first stay if you sign up for an account here.

Just a word of warning. Some of these promotions may require an address to be in a specific country/area like United States or Asia Pacific. I take absolutely no guarantees what will post to your Priority Club account.  They may also conflict with a promotion that you have already signed up for and just return an error message.

There is an interesting “Roles To Rooms’ promotion for total of 15K bonus points for four stays. This promotion appears to be geographically targeted to Asia Pacific region.

Priority Club Offering 40% Bonus on Purchased Points

1 Comment

Priority Club just sent an email regarding a promotion for buying points. This offer is valid from September 13th to October 15th, 2012. You can buy maximum 50K Priority Club points and get a 20K bonus points for total of $575.

This is not the cheapest way to purchase Priority Cub points, however. If you have some points sitting in your account, you can make a Points & Money award reservation and pay $70 for every 10K Priority Club points that you purchase. You can just later cancel the reservation and the points purchase transaction is not reversed.

The only benefit of buying points through this offer is the fact that buying points have generally been elite qualifying. You can qualify for Priority Cub God or Platinum status by either staying certain number of nights or earning certain number of points.

Buying points through this offer makes sense if you are few thousands points short of Gold or Platinum elite status in Priority Club rewards. Otherwise you should just do Points & money reservations and buy points for less money.

Here are the terms and conditions of this offer:

Price includes all applicable fees. Purchased Points are not refundable and are applicable toward all Priority Club® Rewards awards. Members may purchase a maximum of 50,000 points per calendar year and receive as a gift a maximum of 50,000 points per year. Please allow 24-48 hours for miles to post to appear in the recipient’s account. All other Priority Club® Rewards Terms and Conditions apply.

*Offer available for purchases made between September 13 – October 15, 2012 inclusive. Bonus points will be awarded upon completion of the transaction. Bonus points will be awarded to the recipient of the points purchase. Offer is subject to change. Offer cannot be combined with any other offer. Only purchases made online are eligible for the bonus.

Priority Club Stay X Get Y Bonuses for 4rd Quarter – Up To 15K Bonus Points

We now have the information and the codes for the 4th quarter 2012 Priority Club Stay-bonuses. As usually there are three different thresholds for 5000, 10000, or 15000 bonus Priority Club points. These are for stays from October 1st to December 31st, 2012.

You should register for the 3, 7, or 15 night version of this promotion. Note that the bonuses are based on NIGHTS and not on STAYS. You can register at You need your Priority Club account number or the email address and the four digit promotion code below.

Please note that once you have registered for one of the variations of the promotion the selection cannot be changed.

You can combine this promotion with other numerous promotions that the Priority Club has at the moment.

5502 = Stay 3 Nights – Get 5K Points

5503 = Stay 4 Nights – Get 5K Points

5504 = Stay 7 Nights – Get 10K Points

5505  = Stay 8 Nights- Get 10K Points

5506 = Stay 10 Nights – Get 10K Points

5507 = Stay 12 Nights – Get 10K Points

5508 = Stay 15 Nights – Get 15K Points

5509 = Stay 18 Nights – Get 15K Points

Priority Cub has these quarterly stay bonuses four times a year. Remember to sign up to the highest one that you are sure that you can achieve. You cannot change the selection after you have registered.

Priority Club “Roles To Rooms” Promotion Update: 15K for 4 Stays

On August 30th, I wrote about a new Priority Club promotion for 15K points for 4 stays. You can access the post here.

The promotion is available to those that have their Priority Club account address in the Asia Pacific region. All others will receive a message about invalid promotion code. Also, the promotion doesn’t show up on “My Promotions” even when you have successfully registered.

I can now confirm that if you successfully signed for the promotion and even if it doesn’t show up in your “My Promotions”, you will receive the bonus points. I just had couple of stays and the first set of bonus points (2500) posted after the second stay.

This is an excellent Priority Club promotion that you should sign up for. If your account address is not in the Asia pacific region, it would be worthwhile to change it there temporarily. I am sure that we all have someone in out extended circle of friends that is living in the region. Just ask if you can use their address temporarily.

Make sure that you have signed up for our blog email updates and follow us on Twitter and like on Facebook. We will always make a post when there is an exciting Priority Club promotion or bonus point opportunity around.

Complimentary Intercontinental Ambassador Status After Three InterContinental Nights

InterContinental has had this same promo for the past few years. You will get an Ambassador status after three paid nights at InterContinental hotels (stays at any other InterContinental Hotels Group brand do not count). You need to register for this offer prior to your stay.

You can register here by inputting an offer code 6487 along with your Priority Club number and/or email address. You need to have the three InterContinental nights by the end of November, 2012. You can read more about the InterContinental Ambassador status here and about the Royal Ambassador status here.

Please note that it appears that this offer doesn’t work for all Priority Club accounts. It might be geographically targeted or doesn’t work if you have taken advantage of similar offer previously and/or has been an Ambassador member.

This is a very good offer if you have three InterContinental nights coming up before the end of November and are not ready to pay $200 for Ambassador status.

Make sure that you have signed up for our blog email updates and follow us on Twitter and like on Facebook. We will always make a post when there is an exciting Priority Club promotion or bonus point opportunity around.

Triple Priority Club Points in Spain & Portugal – Need to Book IKTB2 Rate

Priority Club is offering triple points at number of their properties in Spain and Portugal. You need to book a triple points rate code IKTB2 to be eligible for the bonus. This offer is valid from September 4 to December 31, 2012 but you need to make the booking by November 10. You can access this offer here.

Priority Club Triple Points Iberia
Priority Club Triple Points Iberia

Here are three rate examples:

Holiday Inn Madrid

Triple points rate is 165 euros per night when the hotel also has an advance purchase rate of 139.50 euros per night

Holiday Inn Express Alicante

The triple points rate is the same as best flexible rate 45 euros. There are advance purchase rate for 40.50 euros available as well.

Holiday Inn Lisbon

The Advance purchase rate is 120 euros and the triple points rate is 133.33 euros.

If the lowest rate that you are eligible for is very close to the triple points rate, then it makes sense to book the triple points one. Also, if you are very close to requalifying or making a Platinum status, all the points that you earn counts towards the 60K requirement.

Personally, I am not a huge fan of promotions that require you to book an inflated rate. These are normally targeted towards business travelers that can get their hotel bills reimbursed by clients/employer.

Here are the terms and conditions of this promotion in French:

Update on My InterContinental Royal Ambassador Renewal

Last week, I saw my InterContinental Royal Ambassador status renewed at much less nights than what is the “official” line from the Ambassador service center. I wrote a piece about it and thought that it might be a glitch. Coupel of years back there was huge number of Ambassador members elevated to Royal Ambassador status over the weekend only to find out that they had withdrawn it couple of days later.

So, I sent an email to Ambassador service center at asking for clarification on the issues on hand:

1. Line on my Priority Club account states Royal Ambassador renewal

2. Status had been downgraded to Platinum Ambassador on the same site

3. Royal Ambassador should have been valid until the end of September

4. shows the status as Platinum Ambassador

I sent this email over the weekend and received the following reply back within 48 hours:

Thank you for taking the time to contact the InterContinental Ambassador Service Center.

Foremost, our apologies for the inconvenience this matter has caused.

We would like to take this opportunity to clarify that accounts of Royal Ambassador members are monitored at least two (2) months prior to its expiry date. In your case, your IC stay activity was monitored between the months of July-August 2012.

Please note however that consideration will be given for your stays in particular for the months of August towards September.

In this regard, we would like to confirm that due to your impressive InterContinental stay activity your Royal Ambassador status was reinstated and is now valid through 01 October 2013. Additionally, please allow for your membership portfolio to arrive within seven weeks.

We hope to have provided the necessary information. Should you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at +44 (0) 870 400 9099/ 1-888-211-7996

Of course the email that I sent achieved the result that I had been seeking for. My Royal Ambassador status was extended until the end of September 2013. Obviously the original Royal Ambassador line on my Priority Club account history had been fluke. It is actually funny that they had now changed it to Ambassador Renewal and then another line for Royal Ambassador upgrade.

InterContinental Hotels Group/Priority Club is not known for their IT. It does work, however, for our advantage for most of the time as you can sign up for numerous concurrent promotions that are “officially” targeted.

Priority Club Last Minute Reward Nights Out For September

Priority Club just released a list of last minute rewards nights for this coming weekend. You need to book them on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday nights this coming weekend. You can access the full list of hotels by following this link.

These last minute rewards nights are offered at 50% discount of the usual number of points needed. This time they have 66 hotels on the list of which only one is InterContinental hotel. Most of the hotels on the lost this time are in the United States.

Sometimes there are good values on the Last Minute Rewards list, but nothing really caught my eye this time around.

It is always good time to use points when a hotel is on the Last Minute Awards or Point Breaks list. This time the Last Minute Reward list is rather limited and only has one InterContinental hotel.

Make sure that you have signed up for our blog email updates and follow us on Twitter and like on Facebook. We will always make a post when there is an exciting Priority Club promotion or bonus point opportunity around.
