Different Types Of IHG Rewards Club Promotions

Now that there are numerous IHG Rewards Club promotions going on, I thought that it would be time to have an updated post about different types of them. Some (most) of the IHG Rewards Club promotional offers are combinable with each other but then some are not. I hope that this piece clarifies the situation.

1. Quarterly (Not Always) Stay-Bonuses

Iberia Avios Promotion Of 15 Avios Per Day Until July 31

Yesterday, I wrote about Iberia Plus’ promotion of up to 15,000 bonus miles for 10 or more different partner transactions by July 31, 2013. You can access the piece here.

There seems to be a twist to this promotions that I didn’t properly cover yesterday. You can earn 15 Avios PER day until July 31, 2013, by “inviting” your Facebook friends (no need to invite actually) and posting something to your wall (choose option that you can only see the spam).

Top Hotel Promotion June 2013

Here’s my pick of the five most lucrative hotel promotions that you can take advantage this month. I really like the IHG, Marriott and Hilton/Virgin Atlantic promotions:

1. IHG Rewards Club Double Points Promotion Combined With All The Other Promotions

I will have a comprehensive “IHG Rewards Club Summer 2013 Promotion Guide” article up here on LoyaltyLobby on Monday. You can earn bundle of points from your InterContinental Hotels Group stays this summer and get rebates in the process as well. You can access the list of current promotions here.

Compensation Clinic: Checked Bag Damage By Air France

This is a second article on the Sunday series called Compensation Clinic. You can drop me an email about what problems you have encountered during your travels (hotels, airlines, car rentals etc.), how you gave feedback (complained) and what the problem resolution was. I will publish the best ones in the coming weeks.

It must have been a bad omen that I wrote about the carry on bag which I travel with couple of months ago (you can access the piece here).

Iberia Plus 15,000 Bonus Avios For 10 Partner Transactions + 15 Avios For Facebook App/Like

Iberia Plus is running a bonus Avios campaign for partner transactions. You can earn maximum of 10,000 bonus points for having 10 or more different partner transactions by July 31, 2013.

EDIT 07/14: There is now an English version of this Iberia website available as well. You can access it here

There is some sort of Facebook component for this campaign as well that earns you 15 bonus Avios that can get your Iberia Plus account going.

This sale is valid for stays between July 6 and September 1, 2013. Le Club Accorhotels members are eligible for 50% discount and non-members 40%.

IHG Rewards Club Bonus Points Bonanza

Last week, I had a lighthearted quiz for a number of points that one would earn for a one night stay at limited service IHG property once all the one time bonus offers that are currently available have been factored in. You can read that piece here.

I presented the screen shot of the promo registration above. Only the points that would post with the actual stay would count and not any possible delayed postings. And here’s what posted for the stay:

GHA Discovery Platinum Status For Signing Up (June 2013)

Le Club Accorhotels Promotions June 2013

Le Club Accorhotels rarely has global promotions for double or triple points, but they do have a lot of local or brand specific promotions for bonus points and/or discounts.

I have now decided to do a once a month digest type of all of them that I am aware of. If I have missed any current one from the list below, don’t hesitate to drop me an email to john@loyaltylobby.com or leave a comment below with a link.

US Airways Dividend Miles Promotion: 1000 Bonus Miles At Aloft, Element & Four Points Hotels

SPG has a new offer for US Airways Dividend Miles members that stay at Aloft, Element or Four Points hotels in North America between June 1 and December 31, 2013, for 1000 bonus miles per stay and $10 F&B (food and beverage) credit.

Hotel Promotions Update June 2013

Here’s the monthly update on current hotel promotions. Most of the IHG Rewards Club one time bonus offers that expired on March 31 are now back (and better than ever). I will have a separate “IHG Rewards Club Summer 2013 Promotion Guide” post up on Monday. Accor doesn’t have global promotions, but there are many hotel/region based ones, however.

Hyatt and Wyndham don’t have promotions at the moment. Ritz-Carlton has a very good one starting on July 1.

You can get cash back for most of your hotel bookings and you can read more about it here:Cashback for Your Hotel and Travel Bookings.

If I have missed any hotel points or rate promotions, just leave a message below or send me an email to john@loyaltylobby.com.

EVA Air’s Frequent Flier Program Name Changing To Infinity MileageLands

In anticipation to EVA Air’s joining the Star Alliance on 18th of this month, Star Alliance briefly posted the information about mapping the EVA’s membership levels to alliance wide Star Alliance Silver and Gold status.

EVA Air’s frequent flier program has been called the Evergreen Club, but now they have come up with this new name that is frankly put somewhat challenging.

Bloomberg BusinessWeek Article On Airline Ancillary Revenue

There is a very interesting article on Bloomberg Businessweek about the ancillary revenues that the airlines are now collecting worldwide. You can access this article here.

Five years ago the ancillary fees that the airlines collected were just $2.5 billion and this grew to $36 billion in 2012. At the end of 2013, these fees are expected to represent 5% of all revenue collected by the airlines.
