United Airlines has a new Mileage Plus Buy Miles-offer for 40% discount off of the mileage purchases greater than 25,000 miles. This offer that you can access only using this link is valid until June 30, 2013. This offer is open for all.


You can buy or gifted maximum of 100,000 miles per calendar year.

IHG Rewards Club Vacation Pay Registration Now Open: Get Up To $200 Back


The registration for IHG Rewards Club Vacation Pay promotion that I write about on Sunday (read my here) is now open. You can get $50 rebate per two night weekend stay between May 31 and September 3, 2013. You can access IHG Rewards Club web page for this promotions here.


Note that this is not the usual type of IHG Rewards Club promotion, as you need to mail the copy of the registration page, your hotel confirmation and paid folio to the rebate processing center after your stay. You should then get the $50 MasterCard branded debit card in about 6 weeks time.

LifeMiles Getting Social Media Lesson On Facebook


Frequent fliers took it to the LifeMiles Facebook page to voice their displeasure of the recent unannounced changes in AviancaTaca’s LifeMiles program in the past week.


First, the number of miles required for an award trip jumped by in some cases 50,000 miles (read more here). Second, the price of a mile purchased at the time of ticket issuance went up by up to 15% yesterday (read more here).

Hilton HHonors Bonus Offer: 2500 Points For Stay Booked Within 24 Hours


Hilton HHonors has a Facebook app related bonus offer for 2500 bonus points for one stay that is booked between 11AM EST on May 23 and 10:59AM EST on May 24 and consumed between May 23 and September 30, 2013.


Note that you need to book first and then return to the Facebook app to register for the stay in order to be eligible for the bonus points.

IHG Rewards Club has a new promotion for 1000 bonus points PER stay for 60 days after you sign up for this promotion.


You can earn this 1000 bonus points unlimited number of times during the 60 day period.

Marriott Platinum Arrival Gift Changes: 500 Points Or $10 F&B Voucher


Marriott has made a subtle change to its Platinum Arrival Gift of 500 points or food and beverage amenity.


Now, Marriott properties must offer, at the minimum, the choice of between 500 points OR $10 food and beverage coupon.

Marriott Properties Excluded From The Weekend Breakfast Benefit (1000 Points Instead)

Marriott made an announcement earlier this week about the breakfast changes at their North American JW Marriott, Marriott, Renaissance, and Autograph Collection hotels. Gold and Platinum members are now eligible for continental breakfast 7 days week at non-resort locations.

IHG Rewards Club Weekend Stay Bonus Update: 5000 Points For Two Night Stay

AviancaTaca LifeMiles Cash + Miles Price Increase


Seems that there is another Wednesday surprise from LifeMiles. Last week, LifeMiles changed the award chart on their website unannounced and some awards went up by 50K miles per return. You can read my take on this change here.


Now, LifeMiles has changed the price of miles that you can purchase, when you do an award reservations from 9% to 14.5%.

Marriott Gold & Platinum Member Weekend Breakfast Extension In North America

American Airlines Changing Its Elite Status Soft Landing Policy?


There is a long thread on FlyerTalk (you can access it here) about an email that American Airlines has sent to some of the elite members today that may indicate the ending of AA’s soft landing policy. LoyaltyLobby reader sent me a copy of it:

The InterContinental Hotels Group’s (IHG) Best Rate Guarantee (BRG) has soon been around for two years and the terms and conditions of this program have changed several times along the way (I probably should do a new write up about this program soon).


It is relatively easy way to score free hotels nights, if you know the rules and have some time to spend. The beauty of the program is that you can get entirely free stay, if your stay is for one night and you can get the BRG applied to it.

Sofitel Summer 2013 Private Sale: 40% Discount (46% For Advantage Plus Members In APAC)


Sofitel has launched their 40% off private sale for bookings made between May 21 and May 27 for stays between June 27 and September 4, 2013.

Marriott Extending Gold & Platinum Member Complimentary Weekend Breakfast To United States & Canada


USA Today reported yesterday (read their piece here) that Marriott is going to announce today that the complimentary weekday continental breakfast in the United States and Canada is extended to include Saturday and Sunday as well starting on June 22, 2013.


Previously, the continental breakfast has been complimentary on hotel club lounge or in the restaurant, if the hotel doesn’t have lounge for Marriott Rewards Gold and Platinum members (including Ritz-Carlton Rewards Gold & Platinum).
