Accor has launched a Flash Sale for stays at three luxury properties in Singapore through April 28, 2021.

Accor Live Limitless (ALL) members get the second night free (50% off) and Accor Plus members get an additional 10% off, bringing the discount to a total of 60%. You must book by February 28.

Some Canadians Skipping “Mandatory” Hotel Quarantine For C$880 Fine

Canada started to require three-night hotel quarantine for all arrivals this past Monday (read more here) at select hotels (read more here).

Some Canadians have now found out that it is cheaper to pay a fine of C$880 rather than C$2,000 for the hotel stay.

Marriott Upgrade Minefield: Bonvoy Complimentary & Suite Night Award Limitations At Various Brands (Aloft, Element, Ritz Carlton etc)

The Marriott Bonvoy program has a specific limitation when it comes to the complimentary suite upgrade benefits, namely that there are a range of brand exclusions including Aloft, Element and Ritz Carlton hotels.

While these brands (alongside a few others) are excluded from the Complimentary Enhanced Room Upgrade benefits they don’t participate in the Suite Upgrade Awards system which you can select as Elite Choice either so one should be careful before exercising this option.

British Airways Loses £130,000 Over Baileys Slip

An entrepreneur fell at the BA check-in at London’s Heathrow on his way to Geneva and hurt his head.

The floor was slippery due to Bailey’s liquor, and the man won a judgment of £130,000 in the British court against BA and may be in for far more if the airline is deemed negligible.

Swiss Buy-On-Board Ex-Zurich Effective March 30, 2021

Swiss introduced buy on board for flights ex-Geneva in 2018 (read more here), and Lufthansa announced that all their group airlines (Lufthansa, SWISS & Austrian) would move to paid catering on short- and mid-haul flights in 2021 (read more here).

Swiss has now announced their paid catering for flights ex-Zurich that begins on March 30, 2021. Water and chocolate continue to be complimentary.

Qatar Airways Privilege Club “Refer-a-Friend” Promotion February 23 – April 30, 2021

Qatar Airways has launched a “Refer-a-Friend” promotion to get existing members to bring new ones into the program by April 30, 2021.

The new member gets 1,000 Privilege Club miles immediately and 4,000 bonus miles after their flight by September 30, 2021. You will also receive 2,000 bonus miles after their first flight.

Scandic Friends Members Should Check Their Accounts For Fraudulent Activity

A LoyaltyLobby reader gave us a tip that a Nordic hotel chain Scandic, which at one point was part of Hilton and still manages three Hilton hotels in Finland, has been affected by a hack.

It appears that fraudsters have used automated bots to break into Scandic Friends accounts with weak passwords and then used points towards gift card awards (easy to resell).

Hilton has offered matches to its Gold and Diamond tiers for years with varying terms and halving the number of nights to complete it in 2021.

Hilton continues to match to Gold status upfront for 90 days, during which the member can retain it or advance to Diamond through March 31, 2023, by consuming 5 or 9 nights. Hilton has slightly changed the T&Cs of the match on Thursday (February 25).
