Nonworking Hotel Internet – Would You Stay Or Leave?

Would you stay or leave, if the hotel has a nonworking or unstable internet connection? I was faced with this question last week, when I was staying at the Glasgow Marriott hotel.

I checked in the morning, as I was coming from a transatlantic flight, and went straight to the executive lounge to have a breakfast. I already had problems logging in to the system that kept rejecting my room number and last name combo. Manager on Duty had to bring me a onetime use code.

Airbus A350’s Maiden Flight

Airbus A350 took it to the skies first time on Friday in Toulouse, France. The A350 flew around for four hours and landed.

There is a good piece about this maiden flight, the plane type in general and the competition from Boeing on Financial Times article that you can access here.

Eden Roc’s Marriott Affiliation Coming To An End On July 11

Last year, the owner of the Eden Roc hotel in Miami’s South Beach tried to take over the hotel and oust the Marriott’s on property management. This didn’t go to the plan and Marriott continued managing the property (you can read my piece here).

There was a piece on Bloomberg (you can read it here) that a New York court had made a decision that the owners of Eden Roc could remove Marriott as the manager of the property. Also, the piece states that the Marriott would have mismanaged the property after $300 million dollar investment that the owners had done.

IHG Rewards Club Summer 2013 Promotion Guide

IHG Rewards Club (Priority Club’s name is changing on July 1 – read more about coming changes here) has plethora of promotions going on at the moment and I thought that it would be a good idea to try summarizing them all in one article.

The number of different types of promotions that the IHG Rewards Club may sometimes have simultaneously is very confusing even for someone that follows them as closely as I do (you can read more about different types of promotions here) and reading the promotional terms and conditions, when available, don’t always help either.

The only recent negative change was the discontinuance of the partnership with Icelandair.

The beauty of Alaska’s program is the number of partners from SkyTeam and Oneworld alliances and the ability to redeem both.
