Hilton HHonors: Third Look at Airline Related Promotions for the Fourth Quarter

Hilton HHonors is running number of airline related offers for double and triple miles during the months of November & December. None of these promotions are listed on Hilton’s own website, but rather were targeted for frequent flier members of participating airlines.

If I have missed any Hilton (or any other hotel or airline related promo), you can always just send me an email to john@loyaltylobby.com. Just forward the promo email that you received from the program.

These are normally called airline acquisition promotions. Frequent fliers tend to stay quite a few nights hotels as well and they are thus very important group for hotel programs to attract.

Note that you need to change your Hilton earnings preference to Points + Fixed Miles or Points + Variable Miles. The preferable option is dependent of the airlines program, hotel brand you are staying at, and the folio amount.

My personal favorite that I have already maxed out is the  Hilton’s promotion with Virgin Atlantic. I won’t have that many stays with Hilton this quarter. Five stays earns 15K bonus + 5K base Virgin miles. I will transfer these back to Hilton for 40K Hilton HHonors points.

Triple Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus Miles at Hilton Hotels Worldwide

Triple Asiana Miles at Hilton Family of Hotels Worldwide

Triple Malaysia Airlines Enrich Miles for Hilton Stays Worldwide

Triple Korean Air Skypass Miles at Hilton Family of Hotels Worldwide

You can earn up to 3000 bonus Avios (for BA Gold member) for a Hilton stay by December 31, 2013.

Up To 3000 Bonus Avios (British Airways) for a Hilton Family Hotel Stay

Conclusion

Make sure that you have chosen the correct double dip option (fixed vs variable) and have the airline as your preferred double dip airline partner.

Some airlines don’t participate to both fixed and variable miles. Also, Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites don’t always earn fixed miles at the full level. Home2 Suites brand earns even less. You have to check these by the airline.

I have already done the Virgin Atlantic and British Airways versions of these airline promotions. I am not planning to have more Hilton stays this quarter.

Hilton HHonors Double Stay Credit Offer

Hilton HHonors sent out an email earlier today about an “Elite Tier In Half The Stays” offer. Hilton will give the recipient of this email credit for two stays for each stay they complete between November 5 and December 31, 2012. Please note that you need to register for this promotion.

hilton-hhonors-elite-status-in-half-the-stays

You can qualify for Hilton HHonors Silver, Gold, or Diamond status based on stays, nights, or base points. I just wrote about an article about this that you can access here. You can use this double stay credit offer to maintain or elevate the current status that you have.

hilton-hhonors-targeted-offer-error

Note that this offer is most likely targeted. If you get the red error message, you are most likely not a recipient of this email offer.

There are number of offers for instant/fast track offer for Hilton HHonors Gold status; MVP, Visa Infinite card holders & airline related offer.

Conclusion

I have received something similar on the years when I have not had that many Hilton stays due to lackluster promotions. They normally have number of stays that you need to complete by year end to maintain your status.

This is the first time that I have seen Hilton sending out an offer for double stay credit. You could combine it with the current promotion of 40K HH for five stays (by taking advantage of Virgin Atlantic promo and transferring the miles back to Hilton HHonors points). That would be easy 10 stay credits!

Here are the terms and conditions of this offer:

Double Bonus Stay Credit – Terms & Conditions

This exclusive offer is open only to the Hilton HHonors™ member who received the email from Hilton HHonors™ announcing this promotion. Offer valid for eligible stays completed between November 5 and December 31, 2012 (“Promotion Period”). HHonors members must first register for the offer prior to the check-out of their stay within the Promotion Period. “Count double toward the number of stays” means each completed stay will count as two stays. This offer applies only to stays and will not double the HHonors member’s Base Points or nights during each stay. A “stay” is defined as the total number of consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, regardless of whether the guest checks out and checks back in again.

If an elite status upgrade is achieved or elite status is maintained through this offer, the status will be valid until March 31, 2014. An elite status upgrade means that the HHonors member qualifies to earn a higher elite status within a calendar year for the subsequent year. Maintaining elite status means that the HHonors Member qualifies to preserve that elite status within a calendar year for the subsequent year. Members must re-qualify for elite status each year.

Air New Zealand Axes Hong Kong to London flight and Forms a Partnership with Cathay Pacific

There has been quite a turmoil recently with airlines making partnerships outside of alliances. Qantas stroke a deal with Emirates that is a rival of Qatar that is set to join Oneworld in late 2013/early 2013. AirBerlin is getting cosy with Air France-KLM, although it is a new oneworld member.

nz-drops-hkg-lhr

Now, Air New Zealand, Star Alliance carrier, is forming a strategic partnership with Cathay Pacific, oneworld alliance member, for flight between Auckland and Hong Kong. The airlines will codeshare each other’s flights on this route and will extend (some of) the frequent flier benefits regardless which airline operates the flight.

Also, the Air New Zealand will drop the Hong Kong to London flight, but continues to operate Auckland to London via Los Angeles.

The last flight from Hong Kong to London on Air New Zealand will depart on March 3 and the flight from London to Hong will depart March 3rd as well. Customers that are booked on Air New Zealand on that route beyond the March 3rd will be rebooked on Cathay Pacific flights.

Conclusion

It is very interesting to see all these partnerships popping up between airlines that are not within the same alliance. Hope that this arrangement works for Air New Zealand. If I would be flying from Auckland to London I would rather not go via Los Angeles due to the rather unpleasant transfer experience.

Triple Malaysia Airlines Enrich Miles for Hilton Stays Worldwide

Hilton HHonors is offering triple Malaysia Airlines Enrich miles for Hilton hotel stays worldwide from November 1, 2012, to December 31, 2012. Hilton has number of other airline related offers during the same period as well.

hilton-hhonors-enrich

Note that you need to register for this promotion, choose Points + Fixed miles or Points + Variable as your double dip option, and has Malaysia Enrich program as your preferred double dip partner.

The choice between variable and fixed miles should be based on what would earn you the most miles

Most Hilton brands earn 600 fixed miles per stay, 120 miles at Hampton Inn & Homewood Suites brands, and 100 miles for stays at Home2 Suites.

The variable miles option earns you 1 mile per eligible dollar at all other besides Home2 Suites that max at 100 miles.

At full service properties you should choose variable miles if your eligible hotel folio is more than $600. At Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites this is only $120 and at Home2 suites you should choose fixed miles if your folio is less than $100.

Conclusion

This is a nice offer from Hilton to Malaysia Airlines Enrich members. Most of the airline offers are for double miles. It also helps that the number of fixed miles earned at 600 is bit higher than with most other airlines.

EasyJet – The Latest Emirates Redemption Partner!

Starting on today (November 6, 2012), you can use your Emirates Skywards miles for flight award bookings on low cost carrier easyJet.  EasyJet flights within Europe and North Africa are covered under this agreement.

emirates-easyjet-announcement

The price that you see listed in miles covers all the taxes and fees associated with the booking.  Note that you need to purchase any additional extras like checked in bag(s) separate and you can use Skywards miles for them as well.

emirates-easyjet-booking-engine

You can make the booking using a dedicated booking engine that you can find on Emirates Skyward website. The price of the flight in miles is directly dependent of the cash price. You can purchase one way or round trip itinerary. Just fill the origin and destination airports.

emirates-easyjet-booking-engine-map

The system will search for available flights and prices them. You will be shown an interstitial.

emirates-easyjet-booking-engine-selection

You will be then presented a list of flights and the price of the flights using Skywards miles.

emirates-easyjet-booking-optional-extras

Once you have chosen the preferred flights, you will have then opportunity to use miles for extras like checked in bag.

emirates-easyjet-check-out

At the check out, you just need to fill the information about the passengers. I didn’t go further than this as I wasn’t going to purchase an easyJet ticket using my miles.

emirates-easyjet-pricing

For comparison purposes, I priced the same itinerary on esyJet’s website. The price of the same flights was $92.18 compared to 17500 Skywards miles.

Conclusion

I most certainly didn’t see this redemption partnership coming – EasyJet & Emirates? Emirates has already partnered with US pseudo low cost carrier JetBlue for earning miles on each other’s metal. The redemption partnership between Emirates and JetBlue is still in works.

If you have small number of Skywards miles about to expire, it can make sense to use them for flights on easyJet. On my above itinerary, the value of a Skyward mile is half of a cent ($0.005). This is NOT a good use of Skywards miles.

Here are the terms and conditions for redeeming Skywards miles on easyJet:

Important Information

  1. Skywards Miles can be redeemed online at skywards.com for easyJet flights and will be deducted from your account at the time of the booking.
  2. Reward flights are displayed per sector (for one-way or round trip) and are subject to availability with easyJet.
  3. easyJet flights must be confirmed at the time of mileage redemption. Waitlists are not permitted.
  4. Reward tickets are valid on flights operated by easyJet only.
  5. easyJet reward flights are valid only for the flight and date originally reserved. Failure to travel on the reserved flight and date will result in the forfeiture of the award ticket.
  6. Reward Ticket coupons cannot be used out of sequence.
  7. Children travelling on award tickets will be required to redeem the same amount of Miles as an adult.
  8. Infants under two weeks old are not accepted for travel. Infants aged between two weeks and two years  will be charged at a discounted reward level.
  9. Any amendments or additions to your booking are not permitted and can only be made directly with easyJet if applicable or via easyJet.com. Skywards Miles cannot be used to pay for any changes.
  10. Miles can be paid for optional extras specified on the easyJet website at the time of initial booking only or directly with easyJet for cash.
  11. You will receive a booking confirmation email stating the total Miles redeemed for your reward. You will also receive a flight confirmation email directly from easyJet within 24 hours.
  12. Skywards reward tickets and easyJet optional extras are subject to easyJet terms and conditions. To view further details please click here.

Reward refunds

  1. Expired Miles will not be reinstated.
  2. Fares include government taxes, airport and admin fees only. Any other charges or local taxes are excluded.
  3. If your flight/s are cancelled by easyJet due to disruption, you will be notified directly by easyJet on your registered email address and will be given the option to transfer to an alternative date, or request for a refund.

10% Bonus + 5% Cashback for Buying Marriott Gift Cards

Marriott often has promotions for buying gift cards. There is currently an offer for Southwest Rapid Rewards points or United Airlines miles, but this Amtrak offer for 10% bonus is better.

marriott-gift-cards-amt

You can get additional 10% loaded to your Marriott Gift card for using a promotional code (AMT). Just input the code (AMT) to the promotion code field at the check out.

marriott-gift-cards-amt-promo-field

topcashback-marriott-gift-card

Note that purchasing Marriott gift cards through their online mall qualifies for Marriott spend. You will receive 5 points per dollar used if you are paying using the Marriott branded Chase credit card.

Conclusion

This is a great way to save money on Marriott hotel stays. These gift cards can be used at all Marriott properties. Just be prepared to some confusion at overseas locations that don’t see these cards often. They are processed through the Marriott’s internal system.

You will receive $990 gift card + $45.05 cashback for paying $901. Essentially this is a 14% discount of the hotel price.

7,500 Club Carlson Gold Points for Avis Rentals of 3 Days or Longer

Avis has had very good offers for Club Carlson members. They just retired a similar offer for 9,000 points, but launched a new one for 7,500 points. You will earn 6750 bonus points in addition to the base points of 750. This one is valid until December 31, 2013. You need to book using a coupon number MUHA018. You can access the offer page here.

avis-club-carlson-7500-gold-points-muha018

Make sure that you choose Carlson Hotels – Gold Points as a partner when you make the reservation and include your Gold Points number to the reservation as well. When you return your car, at least in the United States, the receipt that you get should show the number of points you have earned from the rental including the bonus points.

This promotion is valid, according to the copy, at participating locations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Latin America, the Caribbean, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.

The problem is that Avis doesn’t publish a list of locations that have decided not to participate to this promotion.

The offer also includes an AWD G639300 that can (probably rarely) discount your rate for up to 25%. You can use other discount codes with this coupon, but make sure that the AWD you are using is eligible for earning miles/points. There are corporate deals that exclude miles/points for greater discount instead.

There are quite a few blackout dates as well.

Conclusion

This promotion may work for you if you are collecting Club Carlson Gold Points and the rates that you get from Avis are competitive. Make sure that the location that you are renting from is a participating property for this promotion.

Here are the terms and conditions of this offer:

  • Offer valid on a qualifying rental of three or more consecutive days at participating Avis locations in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
  • Mention coupon number MUHA018 to receive bonus points.
  • Bonus Gold Points are in addition to the base points you receive each time you rent with Avis. 7,500 total Gold Points offer reflects 6,750 bonus points plus 750 base points earned.
  • Provide your Club Carlson number at the time of reservation or rental.
  • An advance reservation is required.
  • Offer may not be used with any other coupon, promotion or offer except your AWD discount.
  • The savings of up to 25% applies to the time-and-mileage charges only.
  • Taxes, concession recovery fees, vehicle license recovery fee, customer facility charges ($10/contract in CA) and fuel charges are extra.
  • Optional items such as LDW ($35.99/day or less) and other surcharges may apply and are extra.
  • Offer is subject to vehicle availability at the time of rental and may not be available on some rates at some times, including some online rates at Avis.com.
  • Car rental return restrictions may apply.
  • Offer subject to change without notice.
  • Holiday and other blackout periods may apply.
  • Blackout dates for Asia: Blackout dates apply.
  • Blackout dates for Australia: 12/20/12 – 12/31/12, 3/29/13 – 4/28/13, 6/21/13 – 7/21/13, 9/20/13 – 10/6/13 and 12/20/13 – 12/31/13.
  • Blackout dates for Africa, Europe and the Middle East: 12/14/12 – 1/3/13, 3/23/13 – 4/7/13, 7/1/13 – 8/31/13 and 12/13/13 – 12/31/13.
  • Blackout dates for the Caribbean, Latin America and Mexico: 12/15/12 – 1/6/13, 2/15/13 – 2/24/13, 3/22/13 – 3/31/13, 7/1/13 – 8/31/13 and 12/15/13 – 12/31/13.
  • Blackout dates for New Zealand: 12/20/12 – 1/4/13, 2/11/13 – 2/22/13 and 12/20/13 – 12/31/13.

Free 500 Le Club Accorhotels Points – Discovery Tour Game 4th Week

This is the fourth and the last week when you can get 500 Le Club Accorhotels points just for matching ten hotels with correct cities. You can access the game here.

le-club-week-4-500

Accor has a new line up of hotels and a world map for you to match them. I just went through the hotels and matched the locations – very easy 500 points

le-club-accor-4th-week

You can find above the hotels and correctly matched cities for the last week.

Conclusion

They really should have paid more attention to the map. The location of Rio de Janeiro is off by couple of thousand kilometers and, according to the map, Chiang Mai (Thailand) is somewhere in Myanmar!

Problem with the 4th Quarter Priority Club Stay-Bonuses

The quarterly Stay-bonuses are the bread and butter with the Priority Club. They have had them for years and they are always very predictably coming out every quarter.

priority-cub-q4-stay-bonuses

Now, there has been a slight problem for stays qualifying correctly for this promotion. My stays at the turn of the month (early October) did qualify correctly. Then, there was a 5 to 10 day period when they didn’t count for this promotion and after middle of October the stays were tracking correctly.

You can see what stays were applied towards this Stay-promotion by choosing “View Offer Activity Detail”. It will show the stays that were applied towards this promotion.

Conclusion

There are occasional hiccups with Priority Club promotions. If you were originally targeted for the promotion version that you signed up for and you wouldn’t qualify for the promotion otherwise, I would only then call and inquiry about this.

When you call Priority Club, they sometimes have a look at all activity on your account. Not just what you are calling about.

Qualifying for Hilton HHonors Diamond Status on Stays, Nights or Base Points

You can qualify for all Hilton status levels (Silver, Gold or Diamond) on stays, nights or base points. There are number of fast tracks for Hilton Gold status by using a MVP, Visa Infinite, or targeted offer based on the airline status that nobody should be Silver.

hilton-account-overview

Hilton recently changed their website. You can now easily see your qualification based on these three requirements.

Note that there are ways to qualify for Diamond based on the amount of charged using a Hilton branded credit card.

Qualifying based on STAYS

People sometimes confuse what is a stay. Stay can be anywhere from one night to a month or more. Stay is checking in to a hotel and checking out. Checking in/out from the same hotel on consecutive nights is not considered a separate stay.

hh-diamond-stays

I qualified for 2013 Diamond status based on the stays. So far I have had 37 stays at Hilton hotels in 2012. The requirement is 28 stays. Hilton counts both paid and award stays for this.

Qualifying based on NIGHTS

Night is simply how many nights you have so far spend at Hilton hotels during the calendar year. It doesn’t matter if they are paid or award.

hh-diamond-nights

The requirement for the Hilton HHonors Diamond status is 60 nights during the calendar year and I have just 41 that would have qualified me as a Gold member.

Qualifying based on BASE POINTS

Hilton is the only chain (Priority Club has something similar but ALL the points count) that qualifies you for their Diamond status based on the BASE POINTS that you have earned during the calendar year. You earn 10 base points per dollar spend on room rate + incidentals. Incidental spend doesn’t apply at Hampton Inn hotels and Home2 Suite stays earn you only 5 base points per dollar spend.

hh-diamond-base-points

The requirement for the Hilton Diamond status during the calendar year is 100000 base points that is equivalent of $10K spend.

Conclusion

Based on the number of stays I am Diamond, based on the nights Gold, and only Silver if the qualification would have been based on base points earned.

You can qualify for the Diamond status using any of the three criteria that I have listed above. The number of nights requirement is quite high considered that Hyatt Diamond and Starwood Platinum both require 50 nights. It is easiest, however, to qualify based on the number of stays if you don’t mind having lot of one night stays.

If you are big spender at expensive location and have lot of eligible incidental charges, you can qualify for the Diamond on just one stay as long as your eligible is more than $10K.

Last Minute Travel Club – Significant Savings at Times?

There are lots of options for booking hotels online. Most of the travel sites are selling the same inventory and prices are quite uniform. Sometimes opaque sites likes Hotwire and Priceline can offer significant savings, but you cannot be sure about the property.

lmtc

Last Minute Travel Club requires you to become their member in order to search for prices. Luckily, they have continuous promotions for free membership that would otherwise cost $49.99. You can access the current free sign up offer here.

Some of the prices that the Last Minute Travel Club (LMTC) offers are truly low. On the Burbank Marriott example below, their price is about half of the AAA rate that you can find on Marriott.com and third of the best flexible rate on the same site.

Note that some of the prices are “on request” meaning that they are not able to confirm your reservation online. According to the information on LMTC, they will get back to you in 48 hours during which the hotel should have either accepted or rejected the reservation.

lmtc-ic-bali

All their prices are prepaid and you cannot access them unless you become a member. Some of these prices would have offered a great BRG opportunity (Best Rate Guarantee) with hotel chains, but you cannot use LMTC for that purpose as you need to become a member first.

Here are three examples about their pricing.

Burbank Marriott

burbank-marriott

The lowest price on Marriott.com is AAA rate of $169.

lmtc-burbank-marriott

The price on LMTC is $101.24

InterContinental Bali

ic-bali

The price with breakfast is $267 on brand website.

lmtc-ic-bali-screen

LMTC “On Request” price is $224.40.

W Montreal

w-montreal

The price on spg.com is 359 CAD.

lmtc-montreal

LMTC has an instant confirmation price of $221.63.

Conclusion

Some of the prices on LMTC are really low. I am not sure what inventory they have access to that would enable them to offer some of the hotels at such a low prices.

Lot of the inventory that is displayed are Travelodges etc. but there are quite a few Marriott, InterContinental Hotels Group, and Starwood properties as well.

I can see myself checking out the prices on LMTC once in a while when I don’t otherwise have access to an acceptable price. Some of the chains do honor the elite benefits even on third party stays like the ones booked through LMTC.  It is unfortunate that you cannot price match to LMTC due to their “membership” set up.

Double Elite Qualifying Miles for All & Double Redeemable Miles for Elite Members on American Airlines

American Airlines has had quite a tumultuous past 12 months; first the airline filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and then it had huge operational issues when pilots started two write up mechanical problems and refuse to operate planes until they were resolved.  Some companies and travelers were booking away from American due to these issues.

aa-deqm-nov-2012

Now, American airlines has started a year-end campaign for double elite qualifying miles (DEQM) / double elite qualifying points (DEQP) & double redeemable miles  for thanksgiving travel  (November 16 through 26) (DRDM). American Airlines elite members will also receive DRDM for all travel during the promotional period. You can access this offer here.

aa-apology

You will receive the DEQM/DEQP if you register for this promotion by midnight CT December 31, 2012. The flights will qualify for this promotion retroactively. You won’t receive Thanksgiving travel DRDM’s unless you register for this offer PRIOR to your travel. The elite DRDM offer registration has the December 31, 2012, registration requirement and the award miles will be issued retroactively.

aa-drdm-nov-2012

There is no ticketing date requirement for this promotion. All travel booked prior to this announcement also qualifies.

Note that only travel on flights operated and marketed by American Airlines, American Eagle, or American Connection qualifies i.e. codeshare flights on AA flight numbers on British Airways are not part of this offer. You won’t get this bonus for travel booked on AA but marketed by other airlines i.e. booked as Alaska codeshare on American Airlines.

I would encourage everybody to register now so that you won’t miss anything.

You can earn your American Airlines status by either EQM’s or EQP’s. If you are flying on discounted economy fares, you will most likely qualify by miles. On the other hand, if you are flying on first, business class, and flexible economy fares, you will most likely qualify on points.

Here’s an example.

aa-elite-status

I have only flown 11 Oneworld segments this year. I have earned total of 37456 EQM’s but 54960 EQP’s due to all flights besides one being in business or first class. Last year, I didn’t fly on AA and was downgraded  to Platinum (cannot go lower due to Million Miler status) from EXP. This year, I did the status match from United 1K to EXP and I was then offered to requalify by earning 55K EQM’s or EQP’s by the end of 2012.

Note that if you are taking advantage of the special elite qualification offer of 55K EQM’s/EQP’s that AA sent back in June, the bonus EQM’s/EQP’s from this offer appears to be non qualifying:

aa-offer

AAdvantage Executive Platinum® membership received through this offer is valid through February 28, 2014. To qualify, you must earn 55,000 elite-qualifying miles or points between April 24, 2012, and December 31, 2012. Bonus elite qualifying miles earned through special promotions are excluded. Upon reaching the required mileage threshold, your AAdvantage elite-status membership benefits will take effect immediately. Your new membership credentials will be mailed to you within four to six weeks after qualification. You must re-qualify for AAdvantage elite-status membership annually.

Conclusion

It has been a rough 12 months for American Airlines and rough past few months for fliers on American Airlines. Now, the airline is trying to court fliers by offering double elite qualifying and redeemable miles.

American has a solid frequent flier program and is probably the best choice, if the routes work for you, for high elites (Executive Platinum members) looking for complimentary domestic upgrades.

This promotion will help quite a few to retain the status they have and few to reach a higher level that they otherwise would have.

Here are the terms and conditions of these offers:

Up to 20% Cashback Rebate for InterContinental Hotel Group Stays

InterContinental Hotels Group (InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Indigo, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites & Candlewood Suites) tends to have the highest cashback rates of all the hotel chains. I recently wrote about getting cashback for your hotels stays and you can access the article here.

Now, they have even higher cashback rate that appears to be valid until November 30, 2012, although there is no guaranteed that it wouldn’t end up earlier. You don’t have to have your stays by that date, but rather make your reservations.

Getting cashback doesn’t affect the eligibility of the stay for Priority Club points and stay credits. Rates that are eligible are still even when you make the booking through a link from one of these web sites. They only take you to the InterContinental Hotels Group branded website to make the reservation. Make sure that you have also signed up for all the current Priority Club point promotions. I have listed them all here and here.

You can make InterContinental reservation on Holiday Inn branded site and vice versa, and still be eligible for the cashback bonus. I have done it several times as the InterContinental-branded booking site is horrendous.

Here are the cashback percentage rates for some of the sites at the present (Friday 2, 2012). The ShopAtHome site indicates that this offer would be valid until November 30, 2012.

ShopAtHome 20%

ihg-shopathome

ShopAtHome seems to have the highest payout ratio at the moment. Thing to note is that you need a minimum of $20 for them to send you a CHECK. Yes. Not possible to withdraw using PayPal. Only works for those with US address and bank account

Upromise 18%

ihg-upromise

I have an Upromise account and used to use it a lot. You can actually get a check out of them, but you may have to request it by sending a letter. My withdrawal was about $2K few years ago (all from shopping bonuses) and I had to get my bank to verify my signature. This is only available for US addresses.

TopCashback 15%

ihg-topcashback

They have a both UK and US sites. They pay out using PayPal so you can use them regardless where you are located.

Mr.Rebates 15%

ihg-mrrebates

I have used Mr.Rebates a lot lately. They dispose the cashback by PayPal.

Ebates 13.5%

ihg-ebates

Ebates is rarely competitive nowadays, but I have used them a lot in the past. They pay by PayPal.

Fatwallet 12%

ihg-fatwallet

This is another site that I used a lot years ago. Nowadays, their cashback rates are rarely competitive.

Quidco 7%

ihg-quidco

They have the highest regular cashback rates and I use them when there are no other offers available. Quidco is based in the UK. Maybe the higher offer is only available through the US sites?

Conclusion

Although ShopAtHome offers the highest cashback rate at the moment, I will most likely continue using either Mr.Rebates or TopCashback. I am not huge fan of high payout requirements and mailing out physical checks.

Note that if you sign up for above mentioned programs using the link, LoyaltyLobby may receive a referral credit.

Conclusion

This is not the best offer for buying American Airlines AAdvatage miles that have been out there lately. If you do, however, need a small number of miles to make that international business/first class trip to happen, it can make sense.

Here are the terms and conditions of this offer:

Transactions are nonrefundable and nonreversible. Please allow 72 hours for purchased AAdvantage® miles to post to the designated AAdvantage account. Please allow 5 days for the bonus miles to post. Members must purchase 6,000 miles or more in a single transaction from the buyAAmiles® program beginning 12:01 am CST November 1, 2012, until 11:59 pm CST November 15, 2012, to be eligible for the bonus mile offer. Members will earn 2,000 bonus miles for every 6,000 miles purchased in a single transaction, up to 20,000 bonus miles.
