Delta Plugs Their Website – No Longer Access to Mosaic Info

Yesterday, I wrote about Delta’s website hack that would have allowed you to check your Experian Mosaic classification and some of the parameters Delta had on file about you.

As I predicted, Delta has now closed this hole on their website and has issued the following statement regarding the issue:

LoyaltyLobby.com Website Update

Yesterday, the hosting of LoyaltyLobby.com was moved from a shared environment in Atlanta to a dedicated server in NJ. The transfer went quite smoothly, but we are still in the process of tweaking the back end and there could be (hopefully) short periods of downtime over the weekend.

If you notice something that quite doesn’t work as before, you can always drop me an email or leave a comment below.

Wired Piece About Airport Arrest For Refusing Nude-O-Scope

This Wired piece about suing the DHS (Department of Homeland Security) & TSA (Transport Security Administration) among others, is a good read.

Wired Airport Arrest
Wired Airport Arrest

This suit is about Mr. Tobey refusing the Nude-O-Scope and dressing down for the pat down. The airport police had arrested Mr. Tobey for disorderly conduct, but the charges were dropped by the county prosecutor two weeks later. Then, Mr. Tobey sued the government.

FoundersCard’s Travel Benefits Worth The $295 Fee?

Quite a few of my friends (myself as well) have received email invitations (last time from Trip It) to join the FoundersCard at $200 discount. The fee for joining would be $295 instead of the $495 that they have on the website.

I tried to use Google to find some objective pieces written about this product but couldn’t find any. There were some, but they were mostly from FoundersCard members soliciting new members to sign up using their links.

Check Your Delta SkyMiles Customer Segmentation Info

It is not news that companies we use can know a lot about us, but they don’t usually make accessing this information easy. You can now check, how Delta segments you and what your Mosaic consumer lifestyle segmentation is.

Update on Club Carlson Targeted Reactivation Bonus

At the beginning of January, I wrote about 10K bonus Club Carlson bonus points offer that they had emailed to a friend of mine. Yesterday, I received the same offer as well.

The last stay that I had at Club Carlson property was on September 19, 2012. Seems that they sent out these offers to those that don’t have too many points in their account (I just moved mine to United) and haven’t had a stay for a short while.

OMNI Select Guest Program Changes

It is always “scary” when hotel or airline programs send emails about program updates and changes as those rarely benefit the program member.

omni-email

This is the case with the OMNI Select Guest program as well. They just sent an email regarding program changes. Of course, they forgot to mention what the previous requirements for a free night or the validity of the free night had been.

Bangkok Airways FlyerBonus Birthday Bonus of 45 Points

Bangkok Airways has a new bonus offer in 2013 to celebrate the airlines 45th anniversary. You will not only get double points for all the flights taken in your birth month but also 45 bonus points for a flight taken in your birthday! You can read more about this offer here.

bangkok-airways-45th-anniversary

I have written about Bangkok Airways previously. If you travel around Thailand and especially to/from Koh Samui (they happen to own the airport there), it is very difficult to avoid Bangkok Airways. They also have a half price award sale once or twice a year that is good deal for domestic flights (no fuel surcharges).

Chris Elliott on “Stealing From An Airline” – Too Low Fares?

Just came across Mr. Elliott’s latest essee about airline issues. Friend of mine had commented about this latest Huffington Post piece and posted a link to it on his Facebook. I have been contemplating about writing some of Mr. Elliott’s previous pieces because he often takes a contrarian view.

This time, however, I couldn’t disagree with him more. You can read his article on Huffington Post here.

Crediting Le Club Accorhotel Points to Iberia Avios

Iberia is one of the better airline partners of the Le Club Accorhotels. The ability to choose Iberia Avios as your partner was recently put on hold, but is back up again.

le-club-accorhotels-iberia-avios

With most of the other airline programs (there are exceptions), you will earn ONE airline mile per TWO Le Club Accorhotels points. With Iberia this exchange rate is different, however. Every TWO Le Club Accorhotels points converts to FIVE Iberia Avios.
