I told the reader to send me a copy of the back of the certificate as well, where the terms and conditions are, so that I can have a look at them.

Qatar Airways is set to join the Oneworld alliance likely before the end of 2013. Seems that they might “restructure” the Privilege Club program before that.

Qatar added a new menu to its Offers & News section of the Privilege Club for program restructuring.

Marriott Probing Lifetime Status Display Options

Couple of days ago, I received an email from My Marriott Voice for a survey about elite status recognition. You will receive some minimal number of points for filling out these surveys. I find it more interesting to fill these out to find out, what they (Marriott) might be planning.

The copy of the email was misleading. The survey was not about Marriott Elite Status Recognition, but rather about Marriott Lifetime Status display options.

Now, NY Times has an article on their website that was published on the International Herald Tribune about the state of the Indonesian’s low cost aviation and you can access it here. It is a good read.

I just purchased a last minute one way from Kuala Lumpur to Barcelona on Alitalia in Economy for a rather low price of $530. I was targeted for double miles offer on Etihad and the Alitalia segments credit at 100% bonus to my Delta SkyMiles account.

Airlines often offer space available paid upgrades from economy to business. Etihad is supposedly using Plusgrade’s technology for bidding based upgrades.

In order to compare these programs, I calculated the average number of points earned for six programs and then chose several markets to find out the average number of points required for a free night.
